Beautiful...

I thought the movie was amazing and Kristin's performance was fabulous. The Twilight movies do not give her justice.

Oh, please. The Twilight Saga is her best. Speak is her second best movie. She's beautiful and so talented in all her movies. Especially Twilight Saga.

She was terrible in the "Twilight" movies. But then, so were all the actors. Actually, that was kind of purposeful. The characters were stereotypes, with no character development to interfere with the simple plots of the movies, or the planned audience reaction to the movies. All done on purpose.

It's a shame Kristen is most associated with those movies, because she was so much better in other movies, where they actually let her act instead of just being a caricature. "Welcome to the Rileys" is a good example of that.

I hope you will revisit the "Twilight" movies as you get older, and see some of the other work she's done. Once you get over the silly teen love of those movies, you will see just how manipulative they were.

Twilight Saga was her best. Final. Fact. Kristen Stewart is the woman of my dreams. And I will not let anyone say anything bad about her Bella performance. It's her best work. Final. Fact. End of story. Period.

You mean, Twilight haters don't give her justice. I was just arguing with my best friend about her yesterday. She insists she only dislikes Kristen because "she sucks" as an actor. She said she sucked in all Twi movies and In the Land of Women. 1) ITLofW wasn't a stellar movie but she was fine in it. 2) Twilight sucks because it wasn't well written, by author or screenwriter. The characters are very poorly written. Anyone who can't or refuses to differentiate an actor from their movie or role is just narrow-minded. 3) She's barely seen any of her movies, like EVERY Twilight hater I have ever met. She was great in The Runaways, handpicked by Joan Jett herself; great in Speak as a 13 year old; great with Jodie Foster (who liked and praised her) as a 12 year old in Panic Room; great chemistry with Eddie Redmayne and William Hurt in The Yellow Handkerchief; great in The Messengers; she gets praised by many directors and of course, Joan and Jodie (which is impressive).

So basically, you don't have to think she is great because she isn't outstanding yet, but to say she is terrible is laughable. People just hate her because she is cool/popular/safe/easy to hate on, which is pathetic. If I spoke honestly about Kate Winslet's or Emma Watson;s embarrassing overacting and annoying attitudes, I'd get my head bitten off (inb4 it happens) or how easy it is to fall asleep watching Natalie Portman or Zooey Deschanel's wooden acting and screen presences. But no, Kristen is in a famously hated movie, so logically it is OK to hate HER.

And btw, neither me nor my friend won the argument. She doesn't like to finish hearing the other side when she's wrong and knows it.

"The Twilight movies do not give her justice."

Lol, Who or what is justice done to by those movies? I agree, I knew about Kristine Stewart long before she became associated with those stupid Twilight films. This being the first film I got to see her in. It really has to do with the source material. I read Speak in 9th grade and since then, not many books have made the same impact on me. Stewart fits the character Melinda almost in every aspect. Bella on the other hand, yeah I doubt even the most skilled actress would be able to bring life to that girl.
I mean have you read the character of Bella? She is written as a shallow, whiny, and boring individual with a vampire boyfriend who looks at her as if she's his "own personal brand of heroine." She ditches a werewolf who actually treats her like a real person to marry the guy who views their relationship as a drug addiction.

I think this is a marvelous movie, in fact one of the most underrated movies ever created. Characters and actors were great, timing was good, and so are the dialogues.

Certain situations are stunning, among the best I've ever seen, and in no small part due to Stewart. She is spot-on in every scene.

However, it's a subdued role, and in the last years I was beginning to wonder whether that's just what she is. Maybe this was just the role of her lifetime, and it's over now.
