The book this anime was based on has been translated. I just saw it today at Barnes & Noble.
The book is considered to a military sci-fi classic in Japan, similar to the way Americans view "Starship Troopers."
Does anyone know if are they planning of translating the sequel, "Good Luck, yukikaze"?

The Japanese release dates (original) for the Yukikaze series to date were:
"Battle Fairy Yukikaze" (1984)
"Good Luck, Yukikaze" (1999)
"Unbroken Arrow" (2009)
"Good Luck, Yukikaze" was released last week on U.S. shores!
