A few questions, Importance of NEUCOM?

I really enjoy a lot of Korean made films, and love Blade Runner. So I thought this would be cool to check out.

There's a lot of cool stuff to like about this movie...but a lot of bad to go along with it (the score, some of the character development, and pacing at times).

Still..I kinda sorta enjoyed it. I have one question that I missed. What's the big deal with Cyper going to NEUCOM to transfer his consciousness to Cyon?

I get the relationships between Dr. Giro, Cyon, and Cyper...so I know Cyper just wants to "live forever", and this is the way for him to do that. It looks like NEUCOM develops cyborgs, and has a large database of all civilian and non-civilian DNA, in addition to some high tech surveillance of the city. Thus, Cyper needed to break in the first time to get some scoop on Cyon and open up a way to hack into the surveillance for later What I don't get is the importance of what Cyper wants to do for the rest of the city. Why should I care whether Cyper is stopped or not? So he lives on creepily in the body of his daughter. Noma says, "the fate of the city is in our hands", when he's pleading with R one last time to snap out of his love funk and help a brother out.

Why is the city in their hands? Seems like only their own lives and Cyon's are at risk. Also, how come the transfer failed, and why is NEUCOM set to self destruct?(Did Cyper trigger that or the good guys?)

All in all, I thought it was a great core idea with some other good (and some not so good) ideas on the side, looks good visually, but the direction and script writing could have made it great and didn't. The director and screenwriter really needed to tighten it up.

• self-destruction was triggered by the good guys (in one scene Noma clearly tells his boss, he has to execute the self-destruction ... didn't you pay attention?)

• the "fate of the city is in their hands" because the battle cyborgs are pretty strong - as you may have noticed if you watched the film. Noma says they are 4 times stronger than humans. And we see them handily eliminating a good part of the best trained soldiers the city has to offer. So I don't really get why you wouldn't understand the danger if the battle cyborgs were on the loose ...

• The rest are good questions though and I am waiting for others to answer them ...
