What camera did they use to shoot this 'movie?'

It says he bought the "best" camera in Circuit City with a credit card with the intention of using it and then returning it 30 days later for a refund. Anyone know what camera and model he bought and used? Thanks.

Hey thanks! Actually a fellow sandboxer converted the picture for me! Her name is Amber and she's usually in the sandbox area. She'll know the name of the program. Peace!

I read that it was some kind of Panasonic mini-DV camcorder. What kind of Panasonic mini-DV camcorder sold for $1100 in 2003?

Katie,
They put the camera on co-director/producer/editor Brett Winn's credit card. It cost more than $1100, but since they returned the camera within 30 days, the credit card account was credited for the purchase amount. Therefore, it cost nothing and is not part of the $1100 budget.

now i don't knowmuch about cameras but i do know that a regular mini dv would never cost 1100 dollars (at least not anymore i think, maybe when the film was made).. and the quality of the picture is too good ..so i would have to take a guess and say that they used a 3CCD Mini DV camcorder.. but maybe you should check out on the internet what they have sell in that store in the price range of +1100 dollars..

have to wash my tires.. there's still some bunny on them.. :)

There is a much better way to get a top of the line MiniDV 3 chip cam.... even a Hi-Def one for about $100 or less-----> it's called eBay.

Buy some used cam.... maybe even a $3000 Hi-Def one on eBay.

Use your credit card via Paypal.

Use the cam for how ever long you want.

When your done put it back on eBay.

It will sell for what you paid for it (vid cams are always hot on ebay and sell at a premium prices)... may loose $100... may gain $100.

Much smarter way.

First of all, they didn't have the money to pay the bills--so they couldn't have bought it on ebay and then resold it because they would have had to PAY the paypal bill.
Also, if you paid attention to the film, the date occurred many many many days after the 30 day limit. And if you actually got a date, you would make every effort to round up lots of cameras to shoot from various angles. They obviously weren't using the same camera. Besides, he works around people in the film industry--someone somewhere will have a camera to loan him.
It is also interesting to note that Circuit City changed its return policy because of this movie.
