Just Got Finished Watching It

I just got finished watching "My Date With Drew" and I had to see what other people thought of this film, and I saw, so I had to write my own review. Now I'm no "professional" film critic, because I tend to like almost every movie I see, but this one was different than the rest, I LOVED this movie. The thing that this movie has that the remakes and other movies in the theaters or on the televison lank is then emotional connection, it draws you in. you get connected with Brian and what he is going through, and I was rooting for him the whole way through. when he had to return his camra i was almost brought to tears. Then when he got the date with Drew I was jumping in my seat out of excitment. The reason why that happend is because I was emotional drawn in and i like that about this movie. So I give this movie A+

I also learned a lesson. Being 17 I have my whole life ahead of me and this movie has really tought me to just go for it, it might take some time but it will eventually happen if you are persistant in what you want to accomplish and I'm going to use this movie as a guide to accomplishing my dreams. So yeah that is my reveiw

Oh my dear lord, lets see this is just another one of those mysterious posters with no connection at all to this piece of sh!t that has been registered here for almost a year, yet has all of two posts, both about how they "Wuuuvved" this crap. This is nothing but one of those left over shill accounts, and I can't belive you think anyone would think otherwise Steve. It may not be you but it's one of the shill crew.

I am so glad to hear you say that. I'm an aspiring filmmaker myself, and I plan to focus diligently on creating films that do more than simply entertain but also impact people's lives. You are a changed person because of this film and that is what movies, whether scripted or not, should do.

I will say that I was really drawn in as well. I was rather confident that he would get the date, not only because of his persistence, but I could tell that he was a really nice AND JOVIAL sorta guy..he so felt like the kinda guy that Drew would get along perfect with and you saw the date - they were like best buds.

I was also moved by the fact that his friends were just as eager to make it happen as he was. When there was bad news, his friends were disappointed but kept fighting, when there was good news, they cheered along with him. Some people call his behavior nuts or stalkerish..I say no. With a personality like his, he was never a threat in ANY way; I believe him whole-heartedly in saying that had she said "No," then at least he gave it a good go. So many people don't chase after what they want...dream the impossible dream, kid..and go grab it!

The guy's a little wierd, but I laughed a few times. The ending with Drew makes the whole thing worth watching though. This movie made me realize that she has the best personality and outlook on life of any celebrity.

I loved this movie! I just watched it on TMC and immediately ordered the DVD! I give it an 8 on a scale of 1-10. Had the beginning of the movie worked a little better it would have been higher. I also wish they had extended the end of the movie. I would love to see an interview with Drew (I haven't seen the DVD yet so I'm not sure if it's there or not) and what she thought of the whole experience. I'd also like to know what inspired him to do this when he did and where he got the idea. This is defintely worth the time it takes to watch! I think it would be a good date movie - it would lead to quite a few interesting conversations!

I found myself cheering him on when things went well and wincing every time he screwed up. I imagine it's pretty hard to let the world watch you pick yourself apart on film - much less allow them to hear your ex list your flaws on tape (the critique of his practice date and the conversation with the ex girlfriend). I think that's what really hooks people - the vulnerability and the universal fears and insecurities that tend to pop up at some time in everyone's life. We all have those moments when you can't believe you said or did something embarassing and you obsess for a while on what you should have said or done in the situation.

Once I began watching I was quickly drawn in to this great film. I was not impressed with the synopsis listed in the cable and Tivo guides. If I was looking through descriptions of upcoming docs (which I do sometimes) in the Tivo guide I never would have watched it. I happened to start watching in the middle the first time I saw it. The beginning is a little slow so I'm glad I saw the middle of the movie first; otherwise I'm not sure I would have Tivo'ed the next showing. I came across it while flipping through channels and ended up only seeing the middle 30 minutes before the Tivo started to record something else.

I thought it was cute but at parts, quite dull.
