yeah, i wondered abt this, too, & just posted my question in another thread. since the camera lingered & focused so obviously on her pulling up/on her glove, i wondered if that was supposed to mean that they had been up in his room having sex (or maybe, her 'servicing' him). i thot maybe he was supposedly having sex w/these men's wives/daughters, as part of his blackmail or whatever?

Probably the father had been coerced into introducing his daughter to Ashbury and then had to sit by and watch as Ashbury seduced her.
