What Happened to Pedro Machuca and family?

What happened to them in the end?
Were they executed? Locked up or simply moved away?

Nonetheless this is an awesome movie. The final part was simply heart breaking... What's worse than not getting to say good bye to your friends, not knowing if you were to see them again.

If the family was real, they would have been taken to Estado Nacional (The National Stadium) and there, they would have faced torture and possible execution under Pinochet's regime.

One famous man here in Chile was a musician called Victor Jara. You can see a picture of him in the home of Pedro Machuca. He was hiding people at his theatre and he was taken to the stadium, taunted, and when he defied the soldiers, he had his hands broken (apparently) and shot some 40 times and dumped in the road outside Santiago.

He also was raped with a red hot machine gun and force to perform a song about how gay socialism was.... thats the way Sabados Gigantes was born!

What a big shame for Chile, Which is tyrant pinochet died in peace as a normal human being! Was it enough just house arrest for exterminate thousands of people?
GREAT MOVIE.Congratulations!

Being realistic, Machuca's uncle most likely would've been executed, or, at best, he would've been locked up and tortured. I'm not sure about the mom or the children.
