Felt like a completely different film from Vol 1

It just didn't have the same vibe. The music, the editing and the directing felt different. Like someone else did the film. I'm just disappointed since the first one was awesome. I know it's pretty common for sequels to not be as good as the first film but I thought they wrote the films as one movie originally but cut it in half due to the length. Seeing this film made it seem like they lost their touch as if it was written years later. Sigh.

Also the name reveal was anti-climactic. Like what was the point for bleeping it out? If it was just a gimmick it sure didn't fit the sequel. And the lack of fight scenes, body count and gore also made this movie less of a movie than the first one. Vol 1 was like a masterpiece, this was poop. And I am a huge QT fan so this sucks.

That's because it was better. First was action. Second was the story.

I completely disagree. Both are masterpieces. I love the contrast.

-Kill Bill Vol 1 (2003) - 5/10 (Thumbs Down)
-Kill Bill Vol 2 (2004) - 6.5-7/10 (which makes it within my Top 211 movies)

i used to be a big fan of both movies at one point but the first movie no longer holds up while the second movie is still solid enough as i just finished re-watching the second movie a moment ago.

basically... the first movie relies too much on the action to sell the movie (and it's not all that interesting to watch anymore) where as the second movie is more character/dialog driven with only some action.

I agree they were different but I still loved them both. Like the first comment, the first movie was all about action and introducin the characters. The second was more in depth for the story. I can't decide which is my favorite.

Keep in mind, it was originally supposed to be released as one film. The first half shows what she is capable of. The second half reveals the whole story and completes her quest for revenge.
