Did Blaze Bayley leave on his own or was he fired?

Ok, the ultimate question. Did Blaze Bayley leave on his own or did Iron Maidne fire him? Don't get me wrong I love that Bruce Dickinson is back, but I can't anywere if Blaze Bayley left on his own or if he was fired as Iron Maiden's lead vocalist. When he left were there bad feelings or was it a mutial agreement? Please help me with these questions. Thanks!

He was fired. It was an amicable split, but his voice wasn't holding up on long tours, and with Bruce wanting to come back it was a no-brainer for Steve.

From what I gather there are no "bad feelings" between Blaze and the band, and Steve still keeps in touch with him.
I'm hoping 'BLAZE' supports Iron Maiden on their tour next year..

Yeah! And mabey will come on stage for say an "extra" guest apperance when they get round to the Blaze History part for a few songs.

The Biography (Run To The Hills) was pretty vague on the subject. It said the band would keep quiet on the subject until Blaze is ready to come forth with details. Bear in mind, this happened 8 or 9 years ago, so the world may never know.

Blaze stepped aside when Bruce showed interest in returning. No hard feelings at all as far as I know. The split with Dianno was much more of a firing and even that was pretty amicable overall.
