Why are there random English phrases in the dialogue?

because ALL modern Bollywood films HAVE to have bits of English in it. i don't and never will know why they do it (i'm sure someone around here will tell us) what's funny in Hum Tum, is that in the UK Channel 4 subtitles, they show the translation even if English is being spoken for some lines! lol. anyway what always gets me is that the characters always seem to blapheme in English, so funny.
come to think of it, the lead guy kinds looks like Owen Wilson, with that funny combed-forward bowl haircut and that outrageous nose

India has some 226 languages. English is the second most commonly used language in India after Hindi which is the national language. It's commnon for people in India to use bits of english in between their conversation.

yeah a lot of the bollywood star when giving interviews mix in some english words same goes for some people in africa especially the well of families like mine

Yeah that's what I notice whenever I hear people speak in different languages. Even when I'm speaking French I use little bits of English words and phrases.

Yeah, I have a feeling English's invaded our very beings. Indians, that is.

I mean... Hum Tum still had decent amount of English which sounded OK.

But now? The dialog writers jsut plain go verboard and make a completely romantic sounding line totally crap. Said in complete Enbglish, or in complete Hindi, it could have sounded OK.

Mixture such as:

Main tum sai LOVE kar ta hoon. (I love you)

does not!
