Visual Bible has been rocked in recent months by en masse resignations of its board of directors and poorer-than-anticipated sales of the three-disc DVD and three-tape VHS sets of The Gospel of John that went into retail outlets across North America April 6. In a filing made April 23 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, VBI said that unless sales of its John DVD/video set improve considerably -- as of last month, it had "generated in excess of $5-million in sales"-- and additional capital is raised, it "will certainly be in default [on its debts] and may be forced to cease its operations."

Are you talking about another film version of the Gospel of John or this one.

If this one is it then - it was just released onto DVD this month. ready for Easter. I think it had only a limited theatre release before.

The Gospel Of John was released - I believe - simultaneously in theatres and on DVD in early September of 2003. The DVD was only available on the official website for the first couple of months, but was soon out in stores. A new, slightly different edition of the DVD has recently been released as well. I prefer my original 3-disk DVD edition that I got in late 2003. However, its high price has been blamed for its low sales, so that is why the new edition has been released. Breezit was talking about the correct movie.

This movie's really good. I have seen it for REALLY pricey though. I can understand why that's an issue.
