it was the british humor that ruined this film

it was just not so funny (although, dont get me wrong, there were some hilarous parts). american humor would have made the movie more lovable.

I guess that explains why I liked it more than I expected. American humor (or more of it... I detected both) would have sucked out what enjoyment there was in it. It wasn't great, but it qualified as cute, and the British humor was some of the best stuff in it. More American humor, at least of the type seen in the sillier kid movies, would have taken it in the opposite direction of lovable.

Change "ruined" to "made" and I might see some merit in this.

I think the fact it did not have much American humor is what MADE this movie enjoyable.

moderndaydelilah, you are a big KISS fan I assume? So am I. I usually go by Shandi on most boards but I'm also a big Nikki Sixx fan.

Awesome; I actually like both of those bands, too, although the screen-name is basically a result of my name being Delilah and my love of that song (plus, I think it sounds cool, lol.) I also adore the Van Stephenson version.

Yes. American humour would have made it MUCH better. Of course... and while you're at it why not overlay the film with a false laughter machine too, y'know to indicate what parts are supposed to be funny as Americans seem to be big fans of those.

Thankfully that's you're opinion. It was perfectly adorable. For every great animated film put out here in the US there are a least 2 stinkers!! Whether they make money or not. I'm extremely happy with everything about this film with its British humour. Whatever that means! Since most of the pop culture references or homages were from American films! Or maybe you missed that!

Great idea, why don't we take one of the all time classics of English literature, written by an English man, updated by English people, voiced by, you guessed it, English people and aimed at, well, a British audience and make it more American!

I've got a better idea, stick to watching something that is a little more familiar to you, and less foriegn.

Thank god for British humour. No one does absurdity as well as the British.

>american humor would have made the movie more lovable.

American humour would have spoilt it.
