fantastic movie. This was my first DVD, and for a moment I believed that from now on, all DVD's were as good as this one. Imagine my disappointment..

I watched it over and over, enjoying more and more little details. They put so much effort into this movie.

One question though. In the cave where the archeologist was watching the signs on the wall, the priest comes in with water, but they decide to open a bottle of cider or something. For a short moment, the camera zooms in on the label of the bottle, and the young assistant looks a bit puzzled at it too. I never understood the clue. Someone else did?

He pauses because the sunlight is overcome by the approaching ship. As for the label, 'Grappa Vinaccia', "Grappa is a fragrant grape-based spirit of between 40% and 60% alcohol by volume (80 to 120 proof), of Italian origin." Gotta love wikipedia. The only thing on Vinaccia, is related to the guitar, or mandolin, Vinaccia being a name. So, instead of toasting to water, they were gonna get drunk off of grapes.

thanks. Obviously another lover of details :-)))

It is really interesting how no one seems to notice that this is for the Playstation game, NOT the feature film. I wonder if anyone has actually played it? I saw it years ago but never got around to it. Anyone play it?

reply

Yes... its oh so bad, loved the film.. the game stinks.

But then.. it is on the original playstation, which is ooooold now.

reply

yeah. It was horrible. And I've seen this movie quite a few times. I think that the reason he's looking at it so puzzled, is because it's a picture of the archeologist. I was unde rthe impression that he makes and bottles his own wine. Don't bother with the game.

reply

Yeah I played the pc demo back in '98. Just your average 3rd person action game. Not much to say about it really. Nothing like the movie!
