not Monument Valley, Arches National Park.

I wonder why some think the great scenes of ancient rock formations were shot in Monument Valley? Maybe because that is what Roger Ebert said??

Anyone who has been to both knows that Monument Valley and Arches National Park look completely different. If you haven't been there, do a google image search on both of them. This movie was shot (partially) in Arches National Park, near Moab, UT. Not Monument Valley.

Hey TxMike,

You are absolutely correct. In one of the opening scenes, the star is shown galloping up the hill and through a beautiful sandstone formation known as Landscape Arch which is one of the many beautiful attractions in Arches National Park - not Monument Valley.

Best wishes,
