I see in the Q&A that Wenders was worried that someone would make a movie in Butte, Montana before he had a chance to.
Well he was 30 years too late.
THE KILLER INSIDE ME - 1974. Filmed completely in Butte.
Check it out Mr. Wenders.

FINALLY!!
Today I have found out that DCK will be shown for the first time in Butte, Montana, where much of the latter part of the film took place.
I understand Wim Wenders will be in Butte that day.

Yep. Wenders was at the screening this past Sunday in Chicago and mentioned that he was going to Butte to open the film!

He's a great director to talk with, by the way. Very open, very honest. He spent a good hour chatting with us after the Chicago screening.

question... when is it going to be shown in Butte? Because I was there when it was filmed and met several of the actors. I worked there during Evel Knevel Days and although I wanted to see it I never got to...

Princess - they just showed the movie Don't Come Knocking in Butte last Friday! March 24.

You must be from Butte then or near? I'm from Polson, MT myself. Nice to see another Montanan around these parts, very seldom I run into one anywhere on the internet.

Good to see some Montanans. Just heard that this movie was filmed in "eastern Montana", but see much was filmed in Butte. Do you know where else it was filmed? Thanks.

The Killer Inside Me was finlmed entirely in Butte. (western Montana)

This site shows several films/shows whose filming location was Butte. The earliest being Evel Knievel (1971). The imdb doesn't list any filming locations for The Killer Inside Me. I wonder if they'd let you update that?

As DCK, they didn't really call it Butte, but a small town in Montana in "The Killer Inside Me"

They used those three letter on signs all over town during filming with arrows as direction signs for those making the movie in various parts of Butte. They were on many telephone poles everyday.

Jon Jost's haunting 1985 film, "Bell Diamond," was completely shot in Butte, using locals. It's also ten times better than "Don't Come Knocking."

I'm sure Wenders knows of Jost's film. It's also a little known fact, but Sam Shepard's sister (Roxanne Rogers) starred in Jon Jost's film "Slow Moves," which was made just before "Bell Diamond."
