This horrible movie has nothing to do with the importance of latinos, only of poor people.
Of course the powers that be relish the fact that most people can be lead to believe that the problem is of race relations and not in the class system.

If all the illegal immigrants disapeared , our unemployment rate would drop drasticly. The first day might suck because any large number of people disappearing would cause chaos.
I want some canadians to jump the border so we can have some white illegals.

In the South especially but not solely, Blacks were doing much of the dirty work -- first in slavery & then in Jim Crow. This what my people were forced here to do.
In the North & the West (of America), poor whites came in much more but you still had significant black input.
Poor whites, Native Americans, & blacks were used in various forms of servitude. In the early days of the republic, there was even an interracial mini-revolt against oppression. The elites turned to the ideology of race to break this up and it worked and not just with white folk.
Blacks in the South certainly got the worst of it as slaves but a number of Native Americans were enslaved too.
Even after slavery, many of the maids, janitors, & etc were blacks. I think this is why Hindus hate blacks because of our long association with jobs they consider dirty\low-caste ?
This why the maid conservate bigot Strom Thurman had a child with was a black female and not a latina. Of course, today, I suspect it will be the latina but her child will be more a part of the white family.
