Purgatory - sorry if this was covered already...

To me, this prequel makes complete sense in a "Dante's Inferno" sort of way. Again, I apologize if this was already discussed, but I just discovered this film a week ago.

Though the other Cube films seem to represent more of a Big Brother theme, this one is more like Purgatory. "Sinners" must travel up through different layers of Hell (again, Dante), and suffer horribly (say, like Job in the Bible), and when the sinners face final judgment, they are asked if they believe in God to prove that they are worthy to leave Hell/Purgatory. This parallels Job's continuing faith in God despite his many punishments; Satan even bets that Job will renounce God, like the guy the end of this movie. The Cube's final judge, in keeping with this theory, should reward the sinners if they say Yes, even after all their torture and suffering.

Anywho, just my humble opinion, and perhaps a repeated one. Haven't read all the boards. Thx for listening!

The first one kinda seems like it could be the Purgatory.
