I thought that Dianne's performance was superb in this movie. All that yelling in an Irish accent, plus she was singing in an Irish accent (when they're driving Declan to the hospital towards the end). Her facial expressions and vocal explanations were so genuine...don't you think that either she or Angela Lansbury deserve an Emmy?

What a shame this is a 'made for TV' movie. I can think of endless cinema releases that don't hold a candle to this gem of a film. The acting is outstanding, but I think Angela Lansbury steals the show. What a talented lady.
You're so right. There is something badly wrogn witht he whole movie system when films like this can be so ignored, just because they don't have the money behind them. There isn't a poor performance in this film. The 3 women are of course superb, but the actor who plays Declan too is terrific. So real.
