Descendants of Darkness(or Yami no Matsuei) is a series about Guardians of Death(or Shinigami) who died with regrets and now serve the Ministry of Hades. Their job is to solve cases in which people are either dying too soon, too many people are dying in certain spots, unexplainable supernatural mysteries or someone isn't crossing over when they was due to.

Asato Tsuzuki is the main character and he's the oldest and supposedly the strongest there but he doesn't have a high reputation. He's known for slacking off and having a huge sweet tooth. Not only that he has trouble keeping a partner around for long. He meets Hisoka Kurosaki who died at age 16 and he's assigned to be Tsuzuki's new partner. Hisoka is different from Tsuzuki. Although he's young he's very mature for hs age. He has a sourly, brash attitude and is not very trustful towards people.

Tsuzuki soon meets a doctor named Kazutaka Muraki who'll become the main villain of the series. Muraki is crazy obsessed with Tsuzuki. He wants his body for both sexual pleasure and scientific experiments for a wicked plot that'll be disocvered later in the series. Muraki also met Hisoka when he was 13 and did something very awful to him.

YnM/DoD has 13 anime episodes with curretnly 11 released manga volumes and two drama CDs. It's also a shounen-ai series which means there's moments where it may be that Boy A likes Boy B and what not but there's no explict yaoi(gay sex) scenes(accept few explict scenes in the manga) and the moments can be interpretted as strong friendship if one so desires but it IS origianlly a BL(Boy Love) series but it doesn't really focus on the subject that much. The only one who really admits out loud to wanting Tsuzuki is Muraki but he's a sadistic B@$tard anyway.
