Stan Lee's Hypocrisy

I for one am tired with Stan's hypocrisy in dealing with the heroes, last season and on this one.

Iron Enforcer was told that Heroes don't kill people, yet Stan was involved with Wolverine (and let's not forget Punisher). Yes, they are not heroes, but anti-heroes... still Marvel profited and still profits from them.

Diffuser is told not to "take charge" yet he is acting like Captain America.

We've had heroes told not to make rude comments, yet Spidey is a quipper. We've been told heroes keep their costumes on... why Major Victory was always called on the rug, yet their latest challenge was to get out of their costumes.

We've been told heroes never have self doubt, yet Stan was responsible for making heroes have internal conflicts... Spider-Man, Hulk....

Admit it Stan, you are just senile now.

reply

I doubt that he writes this stuff. And he is notorious for having a bad memory, so senility would make no difference.

reply

Then there is the questioning of Hygena learning burlesque after he created Stripperella with Pam Anderson.

reply

He must not read Ultimate Spider-man. Spider-man's lost his shirt, mask, gloves, and even entire costume at certain points (the symbiote shredded it when Peter wore the symbiote.) I'm guessing they just put Stan's name on USM and send it off.

Also, he said in an interview that Stan reads the scripts and Okays them before they become movies and remember in the first Spider-man movie, Spider-man fought a group of muggers without his mask.

Ultimate Spiderman sucks

reply

Kind of off topic aren't you, "gangsta"man? Though, you know, USM is one of the reasons Marvel isn't in the red right now.

Well, o the show at least, it seems like he's not creating a modern hero, he's creating one from like the 1930's when the good guys were good and the bad guys were bad and nary the twain shall meet.

The problem is, those characters are BORING! It's a good judge of a person's character, but they make for bad storytelling. Even Jesus ransacked a temple, ana act which would get him kicked off the show.

Never underestimate the powers of Darkness

he is an icon.

he is old, there fore like every other old person i know, gets that free pass of being crazy.

i love him for what he did for the world.

why are people acting like little beotchs, and trying to call him out on stuff.

its silly.

reply

No, he's a great guy. Co-created my favorite superhero, but half of the stuff he calls people on, he had Spider-man do. I just find that weird. I wasn't upset at him for it.

I agree not that you mention it. He's going for the Silver Age hero it seems. A clear black and white Hero who's good and just and nice. They are kinda boring though.

reply

Stan had nothing to do with Wolverine, that was Len Wein. If you're gonna make a point at least use the proper credits to back yourself up.

And I think they're trying to follow the Superman model of heroics moreso than the Mighty Marvel Manner.

I'm the best there is at what I do, and that ain't pretty.

reply

Dude, he is OLD. old ppl do old ppl things like forget what they said or did anywhere between 2 hours to 2 years ago. Leave the old artist alone.

Battle Royale does not need to be remade.

reply

Well do you REALLY want to see your hero knock an old lady to the ground?

I mean can you really gauge anti hero selfishness?

You screwed over your teammates today, Parthenon, and disenfranchised a group of school children. Kudos to you!

Except that coming from Stan, who created all of these flawed (but interesting and human) heroes at Marvel, that's hypocrisy-big time.

reply

Stan Lee didn't create Punisher you moron!

reply

I doubt Stan lee actually decides this stuff on his own(hell he probably doesnt decide at all). Lets keep in mind that if it was just plain old who failed the challenge then the show would have a tough time getting rid of people each episode since everyone can fail a challenge. And as the numbers dwindle they have to give a reason other then you failed the challenge. None of these people have really bad flaws so they simply need a reason to give people the boot.

reply

Not to mention that when he was slamming MV about his costume removal, he had a picture of Stripperella in plain sight right behind him...

I am frickin' crazy because the little man inside my head breathes Corporate Thunder

reply

Stan didn't create Wolverine (Len Wein & John Romita, Sr) nor The Punisher (Gerry Conway and John Romita Sr).
