Character Development

I have been binge-watching R&T for the second time this week, and I have noticed that in the first few episodes, Rosemary seemed to be the alpha female. Later, Laura seemed to grow to be the more dominant character. I enjoy Laura very much, but I was originally drawn to the series because I loved Felicity (Rosemary) from watching "Good Neighbors." (Love the nod to that series in the last episode of R&T with the name "Geraldine," which was the name of the goat in GN.)

I can't understand the reason the writers made Laura attractive to more men than Rosemary. It is astounding that she brought so many very attractive men to their knees, and Rosemary really had only one suitor. Further, they almost completely wrote Rosemary out of the one episode where she was supposed to have broken her leg. It was around that time that Laura began to have more lines, etc. It would be nice to know what caused this transformation.

In any case, I love this series for the comfortable feeling the two women have with each other, and my favorite scene was the one in "The Italian Rapscallion" in which Laura wakes Rosemary after a night of prosecco. Great comic timing and writing.

I so enjoy the gardens and I dream of having the space and energy and knowledge and wherewithal to copy the floral beauty "the ladies" created.
