Timeless?

I share in everyone’s amazement that ‘The Newsroom’ has not received that cult status and popularity that it deserves.
Ken Finkleman, with possibly the exception of David Milch, is the smartest writer out there.
And people say Seinfeld took on some nihilistic and existential themes!
This show matured out of its original shtick of satire to challenge such pressing issues as the role of the media in forming cultural memes. And did I mention it’s damn funny in the process!

Such daring episodes as “Meltdown: Part 3” and “Learning to Fly” pushed this genre to the limits of any comedy that I have ever seen.

And, looking back ten years, the show still strikes a relevant chord.

In time will this series come to be labeled as classic?

The Newsroom found me at a time when I'd just about given up on television. Arrested Development was canceled as was The Office and I was watching PBS and was floored by this show. I had to have more. It is one of the funniest shows i've ever seen. This show works on so many levels and it has been my absolute pleasure to be one of the people who got it.

My favorite episode has to be The Fifty.

It is still relevant.
