The Goodyear Blimp is not flammable

This show compares the Goodyear Blimp to the Hindenburg, in a very inaccurate way. They say that Hindenburg exploded because it was full of gas, and that the Goodyear Blimp is also full of gas. However, the Hindenbug was filled with Hydrogen, which is extremely combustible, while the Goodyear Blimps are full of non-flammable helium. Somebody did not do their homework!

You are correct, and actually 1925 was the year of the Goodyear Blimp! Yes, they have been around since 1925. In 1966 that they started putting the pretty lights on the sides. They called it "Blimpcast." So I do not understand what all of this has to do with 1972.

I was hoping they would show the TV commercial where a man on a gameshow was answering trivia Qs, the subject was tire companies and all the answers were "Goodrich" excluding the final Q: 'Which tire company has a blimp with it's name emblazoned on the side?' his answer was "Goodrich" which was incorrect and he lost it all.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical, liberal, fanatical.... CRIMINAL!
