Bothwell--possible SPOILERS for those who never cracked a history book

Lawrdy-Lord the actor portraying him is all kinds of "club me over the head and drag me by the hair to his cave" going on- and I really dig it.

How have I missed this ginger dream-sickle before?
All I can say is if the real life counterpart had all that sexual chemistry going on and she passed on it because he was "beneath her" well she didn't deserve to have him on top of her later.

I guess you don't watch too many films or much TV as Kevin Kidd, the Scottish actor who played Bothwell, has been around for quite a while, but due to playing completely different types of roles, is often unrecognizable. He was a hilarious vain tenor in the Gilbert and Sullivan biopic "Topsy Turvy" who relied on his corset to show off his 'manly physique'. He was a teen dropout in 'Trainspotting', Lucius Vorenus, a Roman soldier in 'Rome', Count Vronksy in 'Anna Karenina', and just too many other films and TV series to show here. Look him up on IMDB and enjoy finding his many, many films.

That's Kevin McKidd. And as for what the OP said, Mary Stuart did marry Bothwell and it was considered one of the stupidest things she ever did! He was her husband's murderer! He also had to have his marriage to his wife annulled for that to happen because yes, he was already married to another woman!

Do a little research about Mary, Queen of Scots before making assumptions. You'd be amazed what you might learn. She was far from pure, regardless of her reasons.
