Graviton movement and the 1st Law of Thermodynamics?

I am not a physicist, nor am I familiar with physics beyond a grade 12 level, however, I didn't understand how the gravitons escaping our brane (which was referred to as our universe on the show) don't conflict with the first Law of Thermodynamics which states that matter in our universe can neither be created nor destroyed. The gravitons are not being destroyed per se, but according to that law would they be allowed to leave without some type of tangible effect on our universe?

And that is not a Volvo.

By 'Parallel Universe' (which is what they were talking about when they referred to branes), they mean that it is essentially contained within our universe, but at the same time is disconnected from it in some way. You can think of 'parallel universes' as plastered on top of each other, so a parallel universe would be invisible to us, but still contained within the same universe, yeah... basically matter is not destroyed, it's just moved to another region of the universe
