Was this ever released in the U.S.? If so, when was it released? If not, when will it be released? Any info would be helpful! Thanks! :)

Never mind the self proclaimed "Brain Police" who seems to have taken a name wishing he would get just those what he lacks by putting his lacks into a name...

I have seen the 1973 version on german TV in the late 70s and I am impressed to this very day. I have never seen it again and would really REALLY like to watch it again. (OK, I am a history nerd PLUS I am from Northwest Germany, like Till was.)

From what i have read about this new version, it really seems stupid. The original version of 1973 was a dutch (not german!) TV-Series, and that is what I remember. That was really smart, although it had played also with historcial accuracy (like moved Till's existance for about 250 years into the future, to blend him with later historical events).

I have just checked Blockbuster online, they don't even know the terms Uilenspiegel or eulenspiegel... (no, not even the dumb title "Jester Till" showed up in my search)

If anyone knows anything (or has the DVD or a self-recorded disc), please drop me a note. A private message, of course, since we are aware that copying a disc would be so wrong and even illegal, so we would never ever even consider that! Right?
