Brilliant! More movies like this?

Anyone?

I like Proof very much. But it is hard for me to recommend another movie like this.

What aspects did you especially like about this movie? It might be easier then to recommend another movie.

You might try the IMDb page of Proof http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377107/, scroll down and check the movies selected by IMDb in the section "People who liked this also liked... "

"Melancholia" is a work of art; it is about a very depressed woman, portrayed by Kirsten Dunst. She is amazing in this movie; I highly recommend it.
A really good one that deals with bi-polar disorder and depression that is often overlooked is "Mr. Jones' with Richard Gere.
Speaking as someone who deals with clinical depression, I have to say that these three movies (I'm including "Proof") are the closest to reality I've seen. The actors really nailed it.

The disorder/academia part: "A Beautiful Mind"
The disorder part: "Mr. Brooks"
Jake Gyllenhall: "The Day After Tomorrow"

"Sphere"? I've never seen this, but someone else on this board mentioned it.

Doubt. Please don't write it off as a crazy suggestion. You could even swap the titles of the two movies, Proof and Doubt, and both titles would still work perfectly.

Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow, each in their greatest performance, each absolutely stunning.

I know the themes are not the same, but both sear the viewer in exactly the same way. The scene I am talking about in Doubt is the final one, where Meryl Streep lets us glimpse her soul on the rack.
