Close .... but what's with amateur filmaking + Seagal dubbing

I just watched Out of Reach and need to vent.

What the hell is the dubbing about? Surely Seagal isn't SO busy that he can't fit in some voice overs.

What's with the amateur hour filmmaking?? Boom mike's in the shot. Amateur camera angles, poor takes, poor editing.

How WONDERFUL was the building in the final scenes, and baddie hangout?? I'm surprised this building has never been used before.

Now, I am a Seagal fan. And I like the almost film-noir approach to these new European films, but they need some serious script tighening. A great line, from a cool baddie, then some amateur line and poor acting. Repeat.

I kept waiting for the twists in Out of Reach. Was the police-girl in on it? I just wanted a twist ... any twist.

Here's my questions:
What happened to the CIA? Lose interest?
What happened to the Senior Baddie guy that warned Faisal early in the film?
What happened to the other kids?
What did Faisal expect the coded caviar canapes to say? Why give the little girl a chance to correspond with Lancing?
Did Faisal leave the message on the mirror that said Lion Hotel? Wouldn't he think the little girl might use a more complex code than that?
Why was the little boy in danger? (they should have had Faisal see him in the car)
Why did they trust the hotel guy where the traitor supposedly killed the hooker?
When Faisal said "take 5 men" to the brothal ... who else did he have to take? There was no-one at the building when Seagal got there.
Why didn' Seagal go there immedaitely ... instead he went the next day? Did he sleep well I wonder?
After all the time Faisal spend kicking and training in the film, why did the last fight have virtually no martial arts or even physical fighting?? Faisal even walked out in front of Seagal? Would you do this to an obviously deadly foe that has wiped out all your men.

I don't expect Seagal films to be flawless (nothing is anymore), but there is some glaring stupidity.

These films are soooo close to being worthy of Seagal. I love so much about them, but then hate the stupid things they do. Damn it.

Also, how did the little girl know that Segal was going to see that tray?

Thank god, i am not the only one with tons plot questions after this movie, thought i might sleept through this movie without knowing it or something. I hope Seagal stops making movies in Europe soon since the scripts are filled with holes and stuff that does not make any sense at all. I think this is Seagals second filmed in Poland and though its not as bad as the first one (The Foreigner) it still feels like a lame excuse just so they can have that great (but way too short) final scene.

I really cant answer any questions. That coded caviar thing was just one of the silliest things i have ever seen in a movie! The girl moves some caviar around and all of a sudden it says "Its a trapp"... and Seagal understands the message! Oh boy, lol!

i think the big white building was the university of warsaw...although dont hold me to that...

but yeah...im glad someone else noticed the dubbing of seagals voice - what the hell was that about? i thought i had finally gone mad...infact, i thought it was quite profound at first - the dubbed voice being the how the little girl 'imagined' seagals voice would be...obviously not...

and lets not kid ourselves, no-one goes to watch a seagal film for the drama...we want bone breaking action! what the hell was with this so called story line?

bah...who cares. roll on the next seagal film and lets hope its more like under siege or marked for death...

Just watched this movie and I am glad to see other people are as frustrated as I was watching this rubbish.

Firstly, the dubbing in this movie was atocious.

Secondly, I haven't been to Poland, but if I did go then I am fairly certain that most of the buildings wouldn't have english names on them. Why couldn't they have made the movie more authentic? If some moron watched this movie and couldn't grasp the foreighn language side then they only needed to add subtitles to it to say what the building names meant.

This also goes for the dialogue as well. Why would the Polish police speak to each other in English? Speak Polish and add subitles.

What happened to the CIA? Lose interest?
They wanted to put this ‘old dog’ out of it’s misery or something, besides nobody would want to *u*k with seagull.

What happened to the Senior Baddie guy that warned Faisal early in the film?
He didn’t want to dirty his hands, besides most of the girls had already been sold on so why would he care.

What happened to the other kids?
Sold on, Seagul just wasn’t fast enough, obviously too many canapes.

What did Faisal expect the coded caviar canapes to say? Why give the little girl a chance to correspond with Lancing?
He knew what it said already, because he was real smart, he was just taunting our man seagull.

Did Faisal leave the message on the mirror that said Lion Hotel? Wouldn't he think the little girl might use a more complex code than that?
You have a point here, but I think he was thinking tactically ie. Not let seagull know that he knew the girl was communicating with him, either that or he didn’t have any Mr Sheen handy.

Why was the little boy in danger? (they should have had Faisal see him in the car)
The bad guys had seen the little boy.

Why did they trust the hotel guy where the traitor supposedly killed the hooker?
‘My enemies enemy is my friend’ and lesser ‘when you have no friends, you will take any’

When Faisal said "take 5 men" to the brothal ... who else did he have to take? There was no-one at the building when Seagal got there.
They were all out at the party and delivering the girls, besides Faisel is just too dam tough to need men.

Why didn' Seagal go there immedaitely ... instead he went the next day? Did he sleep well I wonder?
He was planning, making the enemy sweat, waiting for his moment.

After all the time Faisal spend kicking and training in the film, why did the last fight have virtually no martial arts or even physical fighting??
That’s the seagull style. Besides Faisal thought he was bad but It obvious from the first salvo that seagal is badder, no one messes with SeaGUL.

Faisal even walked out in front of Seagal? Would you do this to an obviously deadly foe that has wiped out all your men.
It was all down to honour by then man, all down to honour.

I don't understand what happened with some of the dubbing--is Seagal speaking in another language at those points?

I was watching part of a scene and it looked like they were both speaking english and the woman's voice seemed to match her mouth and so did Seagal's but his voice was probably dubbed then.

Guys... your comments are so spot on. Not seen this movie yet but I'm actually on ebay right now looking for a cheap copy. Sounds like a riot.

You mean so close to being as worthless as Seagal?
