Do you consider Janis to be one of the mean girls?

I do because she was developing hatred and jealousy over Regina George and took advantage of Cady by making her hang out with Regina, I personally think Janis is just as much of a bitch as Regina.

I think the title is meant to apply to all of the young ladies featured ;)

reply

Not really! She wasn't shady, stuck up, or genuinely mean like Regina! Sarcastic yes!!!! Lol

- She only planned that whole sceam to get revenge on Regina, and who could blame her???

reply

Yes, that is all true. But it was all still mean ;-)

Devoting your life to getting revenge on a years old issue is pathetic and disturbing. What Regina did to Janis was awful, but Janis should have moved on long before instead of obsessing over it.

And manipulating Cady to get revenge for her was wrong.

I think everyone involved in the plot to destroy Regina, as well as the Plastics, and most of the girls in the auditorium at the end were mean girls. Every one of them had a lesson to learn about how to treat themselves and their friends, and how not to idolize the ones who most strongly perpetuated meanness as a norm. Janis is definitely among them. Who comes up with a plot to bring someone they don't even talk to down?

reply

To me, she was more sarcastic and real than she was mean.

Yes

reply

Yep, definitely. There was always that oddball type Janis girl every other grade when I was in school too, and they were just as mean as the "pretty people" girls, sometimes more so. A lot of stuff in the movie is exaggerated, of course, but it all has slight roots back to real world situations.
