Janis is the meanest character in the film? I've seen this movie countless times and each time I watch it I feel it more and more.

For a start at the beginning of the movie she acts really weird and mysterious and intentionally makes Kady miss her first health class (however pointless it may have been!)

Then she's the mastermind behind the whole plan to make Kady spy on Regina, I think Janis is a mean character who is manipulating a new student in order to get her revenge. I'm never quite sure if she is a character you are supposed to like or not..

I don't think Janis manipulated cady for her own benefit. The only reason why the revenge on Regina started was because Regina hooked up with Aaron while Cady watched. Though I guess Janis did probably took it as a personal opportunity to get her 8th grade revenge. I guess it depends on how deep you want to look into it. Personally I liked Janis

I don't think she meant it that way. She saw it as a harmless prank and a way to get back at an evil girl. But at the same time I don't think it was fair to push Cady into being a double agent. She doesn't work for the CIA. She's just a kid. That ended up messing with her head and confusing her. Then when it all blew up she blamed Cady after she pushed her into it.

Agreed, I felt that Janis should've apologized to Cady in the end.
