This movie is *beep*

mocumentary or not this movie re-enforces negative sterotypes and other than that is a piece of garbage. Not funny.

Andrew whatever his name is is an *beep* and he should celebrate the fact that he got a movie released that isn't even a goof mocumentary. There is nothing redeeming about this film in the slightest and it is just a vehicle for the *beep* film maker to pretend to have skills.

I will make it my life's work as a part of the movie community to make sure he never works again.

Jeez! I guess it's good to have a goal in life.

I liked the movie and thought it was a well done mockumentary.

I can see how the movie isn't for everyone. Yes it's full of negative stereotypes but I don't think the movie's trying to preach anything. I liked it. I think it's a funny movie as long as you don't try reading into it too much.

reply

this may re-enforce negative stereotypes, but that's exactly how people think!

i think this was a great mockumentary... the only problem I had with it is that it maybe too real. i was duped up until the very end.

why would you make it your life's work to stop Andrew from making movies? you're taking yourself way too seriously. also you need to get a life. loosen up for god sakes.

reply

Isnt it obvious why he's taking it a little bit too seriously? This pathetic loser has a mail order bride and is just mad because the film is making him out to be a bum. Dude dont get mad at the director because you suck at life.

Oh yeah and take those empty threats and shove it elsewhere loser.

I think it brings up such sterotypes for a reason. It makes people think. I know when I was watching this film I couldn't help but realize that "stuff like this REALLY happens." It's an actual issue, mail order brides. And I'm sure ton of them are treated horribly, forced to make porn for example.

Some parts are funny, others just make you sit back and go "whoa." At one point or another every character was portrayed negatively. No one in the film was made to be a hero.

And if you're such a critic there are many more films you could pick on that are a good deal worse, I can gurantee you that.

I've learned that people who get offended by this sort of thing usually have no understanding or attachment to it

By the time I found out it was fake, I was so depressed and angry that nothing (not even this response/confession) could redeem this movie in the least. At every single sick turn, I questioned why no one was standing up to the *ss*oles making the film. Everyone involved, from the cameramen to the editor/reviewer was guilty of permitting the injustices they witnessed with no intervention or spotlight on the atrocities they were filming.

Mostly, I hold myself in contempt for not picking up the remote and changing the channel. It was in that realization that I started looking for a place to speak out against this movie. If this movie is a dark comedy, then I was dragged into the pit described by the suicidal as the black hole that keeps filling in on itself, getting deeper. Even the arrival of Jose Canseco on the screen couldn't drag me from the pit.

As a person who works with international students, I was also disgusted by the lack of awareness of the role of culture in assumptions.

This movie suc*ked and I hope the makers experience daily the kharmic rebound they deserve.

reply

you realize the movie actually parodies what really goes one in a MOB situation? it actually shows how screwed up both sides can be and yes, I can honestly answer that from seeing it go on in the real world

Even though I knew this was a Mockumentary up front, I did find myself getting sucked into the "fake" reality of it. I had to remind myself a couple of times that it was not real. It did get a little bizarre towards the end with the co-directors father, and with Jose Conseco and his boat. Overall it was an interesting film and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

That's almost as funny as something Adrian would say from the movie.

Only a americans get so uptight about a movie poking fun at what simply goes on in real life. That's b/c america has no values or culture outside of Hollywood so people try to police and monitor Hollywood to have movies teach us how to be p.c. It's so silly. I knew this movie was a movie from the very beginning, how stupid do you have to be to not recognize the humor of the rat and snake and "keep stirring" and the visit to the doctor's office. How pathetic.
