Title???

I haven't read the short story but I watched the movie and I can't figure out why it's called 'Ladies in lavender' can anyone enlighten me?

reply

Me, neither! Nobody is wearing lavender, lol!

Lavender is used when you pack things away in a drawer. They're old ladies who've been packed away, just like you pack away last season's clothes

reply

But then why the poster with them wearing violet clothes ?

reply

I noticed that their garden was full of Lavender
growing...they had bunches of lavender in vases
around the house. Kind of surrounded them.

The expression "the be in lavender" means to be hiding.

My dad told me about an expression - 'Lavender and old lace' - which is to do with 'mature' ladies. Hence the fact that 'Arensic And Old Lace' is a play on words. He thinks that's the reason.

didnt andrea give them both lavender, when he went to pick them flowers.

i figured thats why.
