Fish pie?

That looked absolutely disgusting.

I thought so too! (lol!)
I live in London and get my fish sent up from Cornwall - simply the freshest, most delicious fish I have ever tasted.

To make matters WORSE, that dish is usually made with EELS!

Laurie Colwin discusses "Starry-Gazey Pie" in the chapter DISGUSTING MEALS in her excellent and very humorous cooking memoir "A Writer in the Kitchen".

(It's called a "Starry-Gazey Pie" because the eels are arranged with their heads sticking out through the pastry shell, as if gazing up at the stars.)

I come from a country that eats fish and seafood all the time but I agree that pie looked gross! Lol! It looked like they didn't even bother to make one really and just stuck the fish in there.

You should see a Season 3 "Gilligan's Island" from 1967 (the one where Mary Ann, watching Ginger, singing, goes up afterwards to shake hands, falls and thinks SHE'S Ginger), then posing as Mary Ann for obvious reasons, GINGER, being a LOUSY cook, makes FISH PIE. And that year The Beatles had Penny Lane, one of whose later verses refers to FOUR OF FISH AND FINGER PIES! The Beatles came from England..and that capitalized sentence in the song meant female masturbation! (And I might crosspost,too..:))

At first I thought it was a joke inserted into the film but I guess it's a real pie.

I’ve had a good one. It was like chicken pot pie but with haddock and crab.
