Favorite Schmo Season?

I'm gonna say 1 with 3 being a close second. 2 was a joke!

I wanna echo everything that you just said.

Season 2 wasn't good at all because Ingrid caught on too fast, and you had to feel really bad for Tim because not only did he not even come close to catching on, but he really liked the girl that he THOUGHT he was fighting for.

He was sooooo devastated at the end, and I thought that they would never do another season after that catastrophe (I just hope he didn't kill himself)

Fast-forward 9 years, and I was shocked to see that they decided to bring this show back after all this time. I thought (in my best Matt Kennedy Gould impersonation) "What is going on?"

And, when it was all said and done, Season 3 had its funny moments (the casual pouch, pooping in the urn, the leap over the bannister, Mr. Wentworth, "You heard that?", "I saw yo bawws"), but nothing will ever compare to...

Is there a follow up of any season 2 people? I didn't see it and would love to.

I'm watching season 2 right now and can't believe the premise. Seems cruel.

Crude.

Some funny parts. Discomforting altogether.

I miss season 3 already.

I'm a seeker too. But my dreams aren't like yours...

Are you watching online?

reply

Nah, I broke down and ordered it. About $6 on ebay including shipping for the whole season.

I actually thought season 2 was the best by far. It's not that cruel. The "romance" was very innocent, after all they never even kissed. Bryce the stalker and Gerald the gotta be gay guy were hilarious!

Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they’re fascist.

Just finished season 2 and was surprised. Thought it got funnier, loved the Manticore stand-in, even the bit where 'the Playah' actor got embarrassed for real... and some parts at the end were actually touching. And I miss Bryce and Gerald already.

SEASON 2 HANDS DOWN! Bryce the Stalker, etc....LOVED it!

Started watching this new seaosn and just couldn't get into it at all.

I've just re-watched Season 1 and it's good, but I think #3 was funnier, especially with the "Casual Pouch", the spirit animals, Mr. Wentworth, the funky paintings, Lorenzo Lamas...

Matt was a bit of a horndog, which was getting annoying. ("Yeah, I'd like to hook up with Dr. Pat, err... Molly... wait I mean Ashleigh!") But I really liked how he always "stood up for the little guy" when he protected Kip from Hutch. He was also very thoughtful when it came to giving Dr. Pat his trip after sending her to the hospital. The emotion he showed after Earl's eviction was just heartbreaking. He wasn't afraid of Hutch or the TV exec. because he wasn't in it for the money, just to find some friends. He was like, "Yeah, hold me in breach of contract then!"

What I liked about Chase is that he is a good family guy who was very encouraging the other members of the cast. And even though he was put in these ridiculous positions (having to work with a deaf girl giving him instructions, the Casual Pouch, the escaping convict) he never put anyone down or got mad at anyone. He even went along with a lot of it (the whole spirit animal trek at the end!) I loved his heart and how much he wanted to win that competition, but he wasn't going to compromise himself for it.

Another thing is that Matt has later said that the show made him feel stupid, and I'm sorry to hear that. I don't see it that way. I think it was a test of character and he proved himself. He should be proud, not embarrassed. So far, I haven't heard anything like that from Chase. The end scene when he yells, "That's my wife!" brought me to tears. I only wish the producers of Season 1 would have thought to have some of Matt's family there at the end.

Overall, I liked Season 3 just a bit better.

Season 3 - 8
Season 1 - 7
Season 2 - Haven't re-watched it yet, I only remember that the girl figured it out which totally sucked.

I'd go with:

Season 3 > Season 1 >> Season 2.

I finished season 3 earlier this week and thought it was hilarious. Some of it seemed WAY over the top but funny as hell. When I finished watching the last episode I thought it was great but that season 1 was better.

Then over the course of a few days I watched season 1 again. Not AS good as I remembered it being. Some parts were sort of uncomfortable and Matt wasn't as likeable as I remember him being. Some parts he was just plain annoying. Kip and Hutch were funny and the girls were hot.

I never cared much for the second season The girl figures it out way too fast and I never really thought having 2 "Joe's" was that great of an idea anyway.

I'd say they're all equal. I don't quite recall the ins and outs of the first season, as I haven't watched it since it aired, but of course it was great. My cable company's On Demand had the second season available this winter, and I was able to re-watch it and catch the finale that I missed (and which Spike did not re-air) back in 2004. The second season is brilliant in my view. This third season also did not disappoint. The actors had a much harder time, but that's part of the fun.

Season two by far. I liked that the Jane Schmo figured it out pretty quickly and they had to get her to become part of the cast, I want to see two Schmo's if they ever do another one of these.

to rate my level of enjoyment at the time was for sure Season 1 first. It was hilarious. I couldn't believe that Matt wasn't in on it and it was all real. It's easy to forget how long ago this was but at the time it was amazing.

Season 2 was really funny and had great parts, like the parents.

Season 3 had a lot of funny parts but I hated Lorenzo Lamas, thought he was horrible and weird looking and worse than that was the producers goofy stupid faces commenting every other minute on the show. I did love the deaf girl, yeah she messed up but that made it funnier. I liked Lavernius and the whole mocha/khaki wire thing, the heart rate monitoring with the flagrant top-less woman doing jumping jacks (that was so over the top), I liked the frisking thing and the shocking a person in the wheel chair. There were good moments but still my least favorite.

Season 2 hands down was my favorite for a ton of reasons:

1) I LOVED Ingrid and found the whole "will she figure it out" storyline to be a lot of fun. Her reactions to everything, from the eye rolling to the dropped jaw to the questions she asked just kept me entertained, and seeing the behind the scenes crew squirm trying to keep one step ahead of her was awesome. Honestly, Ingrid alone makes this season the best.

2) The part where Austin's parents come to meet the ladies is so freaking unbelievable and yet hilarious- seeing Austin's "dad" take a body shot out of Cammy's navel in front of everyone not once, but TWICE and yet Amanda totally bought it! Even Ingrid thought she was being punked again, thinking there was no way Amanda would fall for that. And then when the guys have to take lie detector tests- again, just killer stuff, and the look on Tim's face when Gerald the Gotta-Be-Gay Guy fails a question about wanting to sleep with Piper is classic!

3) Bryce, Cammy, Eleanor, Gerald, T.J. in particular are hilarious and more fully realized as characters than the first or third seasons.

4) Who can forget that conversation between Ingrid and Cammy where Cammy 'admits' her secret? The look on Ingrid's face as she covers her face with her hand sends me into a laughing fit EVERY time I see it! Pork n Beans never tasted so good!

I have to go with One because it was such a novelty. And he bought into it 100%. Three was good, too, though I found it hard to believe that anyone could believe that was real! But they were the funniest!
