A Title Mistake...

I used a friend's German dictionary to look up all the words in the title. Here's the two different titles I came up with (Words with 2 different meanings)

1: On the Other Side of Good and Evil
2: Beyond of Good and Evil

The first one makes sense...Der Wille zur Macht = The Will to Power (Though it isn't actually explained until the last 1-2 hours of the game with Albedo's comment of how he has the will to make his power)

"I'M FALLING ASLEEP AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"

reply

Notice that "on the other side" and "beyond" mean the same thing. When you come to a door, you go through it. You go beyond the door. And then, you're on the other side of the door. It isn't a mistake, it's two alternate wordings of one concept.

If Episode II's title is a mistake, then peole have been making mistakes for decades. Nietzsche's Jenseits von Gut und Bose is always translated to as Beyond Good and Evil.

reply

Nietzsche? isnt he a famous poet or something?

reply

Philosopher. He wrote the books Der Wille zur Macht, Jenseits von Gut und Bose, and Also Sprach Zarathustra, which the Xenosaga games are named after. They are also part of the inspiration for the series.

reply

whoa!
Thats cool i never knew that.

"Do you think I'm pretty?"
"On the inside."
