Are the Testaments good or bad?

Whats the deal with the these guys?

reply

That all depends on Wilhelm's goals. They work for him.

reply

Wilhelm is definetly up to something, and yet all the Testaments appear to die guys who are dead or were killed by Kos-Mos, Kevin,Virgil.

Wonder if the White Testament is Albedo?

reply

According to the Episode I ODM, Wilhelm is using the Compass of Order to try to 'end everything'. It's interesting to note that the Compass of Order is the logo for Xenosaga Episode III.

It's most likely Albedo. To become a Testament, a person has to have a shining will. This is seen in Xenosaga: Pied Piper. Pied Piper is the story of Jan Sauer, later known as Ziggurat 8. He is trying to stop the UMN terrorist Voyager. During this time, Wilhelm has sent a Canaan model Realian to follow Jan so he can find humans with the shining will. He finds two: Jan and Voyager. Jan evenutally kills Voyager, but before U-DO and absorb his soul, Wilhelm appears and turns him into a Testament. Voyager then gives Jan a choice, become a Testament or die. Jan kills himself and is later resurrected by Ziggurat Industries.

Now, remember Wilhelm's last lines about Albedo from Episode I:

"Still, his will shines with such wonderous light. It's a shame to relegate him to such a minor role, don't you think?"

In Episode II's ending, he said this about the white Testament:

"I said it was a shame, didn't I?"

Those are the only times the word shame is used in Xenosaga.

Thanks man, I've been wondering about these Testaments so much and who knew any info about them, they seemed like a Four Horsemen of some type, I thought it was said that Voyager killed Jan's family, his wife and son, where can I see this Xenosaga: Pied Piper?

I read somewhere that Episode III is the last chapter in the Xenosaga trilogy, but what will Episodes IV and V be called, I wonder, in the TGS trailer it lookslike theres another KOS-MOS,too.

Also, there's something strange about Gainun too, I hope he doesnt go crazy like Albedo, he seems to be the only UTRV, who doesnt react to U-DO.

But 2 of the Testaments were good, Kevin Winnicot and Virgil (I think), despite his resentment towards Relians.

reply

The title of Episode 2 translates into "Beyond Good and Evil." Wilhelm states to Red Testament that such roles as good and evil are purely subjective and it is only when one can go beyond such subjective descriptions can one see the picture for what it is.

In Pied Piper, Jan's wife and son give their lives to Voyager because they want to protect Jan. Basically, throughout the game Jan's wife was talking to this priest about praying for a peaceful life for her son, and then for Jan as well. In the end, the wife and son go willingly to their deaths' with the thought of giving Jan peace.

Jan was a potential Testament as well as Voyager. Voyager was to bring Jan into the fold, but if Jan wouldn't go, Voyager would kill him and basically seal Jan's mind/soul in Voyager's mind (where all of Voyager's victims are, including Jan's family). Faced w/ these options, Jan chose to kill himself.

Right now episode 3 is slated to be the last of the Xenosaga games. I'm thinking (or hoping, rather) that this is just a way to end THIS story arc. With the new consoles coming out, this would be a good time to break anyways, and then possibly begin a new story later in the xeno-timeline. Time will tell.

The other KOS-MOS is T-ELOS, which was designed by the UTIC, if I remember correctly. The KOS-MOS project was scrapped after episode 2.

reply

Thanks, so Voyager isnt a human or should I say a normal human? do you have to die to become a testament?

So I'm thinking maybe KOS-MOS and T-ELOS merged to become Deus? also Shion and Jin could be related to Citan Uzuki.

Wilhelm lookslike an Etone.

reply

Voyager was a human w/ a severe cranial deficiency. He countered this by using the UMN as his own memory, or a supplement for it.

Yes, you have to die in order to become a Testament. It is at the point of death that Wilhelm offers them the position.

Xenosaga is not on a direct line w/ Xenogears. Dues was said to be created out in Michtam, if I remember correctly. Juli Mizrahi stated that there was an important project going on between 2nd Miltia and Michtam, so THAT may be the Deus project, or a preamble to it. We'll find out more, hopefully, in episode 3.

Citan Uzuki's real name is Hyuga Ricdeau. He said he took the name Uzuki from someone he knew long ago.

reply

How did Kevin Winnicot die?

reply

He was killed by the KOS-MOS archetype during the U-TIC invasion of the research faculity.

reply

Thanks, and Wilhelm came to him to ressurect him as a Testament?

Also, in Episode II, what did Albedo mean wehen he told Jr to beware of Nigrendo's "shadow" ? does this mean Gainun will go crazy next?

reply

We can assume he did.

Nigredo's "shadow" is Yuriev. Remember, Yuriev took control of Nigredo in Episode II.

reply

I dont think I remeber seeing Voyager or the Red Testament in Episode I, I may have seen the Red one, the only known one, I knew at the time as Virgil the Blue Testament.

Also, Yuriev had Nigrendo's task was to kill Rubedo, if he ever got out of "control".

reply

You see Kevin a few times in Episode I. You see him talking to Wilhelm once when the Elsa rescues KOS-MOS and Shion. When U-TIC uses the Song of Nephilim, he's seen playing chess with Wilhelm. He's also in the ending. He's talking to Wilhelm about Albedo.

Yuo see Voyager in Episode I for a second. In the Cathedral Ship when Cherenkov is becoming a Gnosis, Ziggy says "It's the same as that day" and you see a person with a Gnosis behind them. That was Voyager.

reply

Oh I thought that was Virgil at the end, talking with Wilhelm, its been a long time since I've played Episode I, so I forgot alot of it. I need to replay it.

Hey Bkidd, have you heard anything knew on Episode III?

reply

Not yet. There hasn't been any news since TGS. If you haven't seen it yet, you need to watch this trailer:

I think I may have seen this one, you see Albedo again? theres no doubt that he is, infact the White Testament.

reply

Hey was that another Testament in this trailer? it looked green!

reply

All I see is red, blue, black, and white. Maybe you're thinking of Jin. He's wearing green this time.

reply

Nah, not Jin, he's wearing green clothes like Citan, but theres a Testament talking, as he takes off his mask.

reply

It is? he looks green, at the end of Episode II, he was pure white.

reply

He's still white. It's just the way the light is on the screen.

reply

Oh, because it looked like a pale green.

reply

Citan Uzuki's real name is Hyuga Ricdeau. He said he took the name Uzuki from someone he knew long ago.

I don't recall Citan ever saying anything about his name during the game Xenogears, but according to Perfect Works he took the name Uzuki from his wife Yui. Probably because A) when he first came to Shevat, Yui was a guardian of said nation and she kicked his ass in a sword fight, so he took her name sort of out of respect and B) he needed a new name anyway to conceal his identity.
