is this any good?

this looks like it could be a good movie, but it also looks like it could be kind of cheesy. Has anyone seen it?

I thought it was great. Alot like movies from the mid 90's like the Firm and The Pelican Brief.

I'm a movie buff who happens to be really fond of Neo Noir. You know "The Usual Suspects", "Resevoir Dogs" and the lot? I usually figure out the plots in the first few minutes, but this film was so convoluted, and frankly boring, that I could not maintain interest long enough to determine what the film was even about. To me, it seemed to meander back and forth for the longest time on deciphering whether the female lead was actually a Biracial woman who just happened to have a lot of White features or a White woman disguising herself as a Biracial woman, that by the end, my attitude was "Who cares! Is that all this movie is about?" (and I'm a Biracial woman myself). I do remember feeling some sympathy for the character played by Ray Liotta but otherwise, I was bored to tears. My stepfather and I both started dozing off and eventually stopped watching. Definitely not worth the price of a ticket.

Did you know who Keyser Sose was?

So when watching Slow Burn did it not interest you who Danny was and if Jolene's character was truly incahoots with him or working against him? Did it not interest you that Jolene's character was actually white disguising herself as biracial to delve into the urban criminal underworld? Did it not interest you that Jolene's character claimed rape that did not happen.

This was complicated movie that was far from boring. Some people buy movie tickets knowing good and well that they're sleepy to begin with.

Nora Timmer (Jolene Blalock) used her physical features as a tool to enact her motives. This movie was not about her disguising herself as a Biracial woman. If that was the case this film would have been a relationship drama which it is not.

It's not good and it is cheesy.

Bad dialogue, convoluted plot, predictable twists, and humongous plotholes galore.

It wasn't the most horrible experience, but it doesn't deserve a rewatch.

I think compared to the lot of movies out there, it was interesting enough for a watch. I wasn't expecting anything and knew nothing about it so there were a couple of surprises for me and it's a complicated plot

It is good, and Ray Liotta's voice over (circa Goodfellas) helped. It borrows from Usual Suspects and tries to be neo-noir with some racial subtext. Fisher Stevens (Michelle Phiffer's ex) was one of the producers.

Its worth a watch, and theyre were some nice twists at the end. I like the fact that some racial aspects (biracialism, identity and duality) were explored.

Some of the time, too many things were thrown in, but it kept at an interesting pace.

The twists at the end are what turned me off. If they had stopped it with one less twist it would have been a very satisfying movie, but wrapping up everything in a neat package (except for the semi-BODY HEAT conclusion)was disappointing.

However, the acting was good, and until the next to last scene, they kept you guessing.

I liked it more than I expected I would. Overall, I would give the movie a 7.5/10.

I thought the same at first but finally rented it. It was an amazing thriller to me and had me guessing to the end. So if you want a nice thriller and you like them, then you may enjoy the film.

I prefer stupid commedies. Was this a thriller? It wasn't the type of movie I prefer and I was bored. At one point during the movie I found myself role-playing - actually auditioning for it. How could I say my lines differently than how Blalock did.
I'll have to watch it again to try to understand it better.'

So I watched it again and enjoyed it much better though it's certainly nothing to keep in my collection. There IS a story here and it kept my attention better. He's a different movie character than what Ray Liotta usually plays.

I like some of the work of the actors in this film, but it bored the shishkabob outta me. I kept trying to like it, but i lost track of how many times I fell asleep, and I was as apathetic about the ending as any of the surviving actors. Nobody likes a whipped dude.
