An Amazing Cast Wasted...

An Amazing cast wasted on what could be considered as one of the worst movies EVER MADE.

Just plain AWFUL. And if you look at my post history...I love any and all movies with my people (African Americans) in them...Hell I even Liked "Pootie Tang"...for what it was and supposed to be, A goofy-azz "urban" film from the mind of Chris Rock.

But "this" movie (Slow Burn) really wanted to be taken seriously. The premise was absolutely ridiculous. I went to blockbuster and demanded my money back and email everyone I knew and beggeg them not to rent this film.

And I could go on & on about Jolene Blalock's character...beyond stupid.

And Chitiwel Okafor (spelling is off) is an amazing actor...And his talents was wasted on this CRAP!!!

Appropiately titled "SLOW BURN". BURN IT...FAST!!!!

You spelled appropriately wrong and if they wanted to burn it fast it would be fast burn. Oh yeah and you put this on multiple boards and still no one replies. That is all

I agree, with the exception of Jolene. They should have cast Jennifer Beals in that role and the whole film may be improved significantly. Bring more of a jungle cat stalking feel to it. Everybody else was pretty much on-point, but she was not beleivable as a seductress who could "pass" for black or white and entrance all these intense men.

Jolene has done too much Star Trek or whatever, she acts like an android.

You are right: playing for many years a blank character like T'pol you may loose the ability acting...and, above all, with no career chances... and I am a big fan of Jolene.

Contrast, "Chinatown"

She was a junkie for the printed word. Fortunately, I manufactured her drug of choice!

I liked this film

it's better that I had never heard of the lead actress before....she was the only cast member that I wasn't aware of

solid flick....

my only gripes are the "low budget"

Yup, great cast except for Jolene Blalock. I was a real mess.

I so agree with your entire post. This movie's cast includes several
well known and talented actors whom we have seen before. Both on
television and other theatrical films. In my honest opinion,
Ray Liotta, Taye Diggs, Chiwetel Ejofor, Bruce McGill, Guy Torre &
Mekhi Phifer were all wasted in their roles. And must also agree with
your other comment about Jolene Blalock's character was beyond
stupid. I have liked and admired the actress ever since she starred in
"Enterprise" however in this very lame film she was so miscast and
her character was very poorly written too! Am watching it on the
ION channel and am one hour into the movie and its really terrible!
Am going to turn it off very soon.
