I don't believe the club scene (spoilers)

Unless you are going to tell me that in 1960, Puerto Rico had bars/clubs filled with rapists and people who tolerated rape of young, white tourists who were clearly drunk.

I also found it loathsome that her boyfriend and Depp left her alone, then he slept with her a few days later, weird? Am I supposed to believe that the two of them just assumed she wanted to be gang raped, so let it be? Or should I assume she simply "had sex" with some or a few men she was dancing with because she wanted to? Is that what the two of them assumed?

If you're from Puerto Rico in the 50's and 60's please tell me if this is possible, and if you're from there now tell me when this kind of behavior finally stopped, that is, if it ever happened.

They were in St. Thomas at the time...

Yeah I gotta agree. What the OP is saying is that this can't happen at all, and that is not the truth, of course statistically these kind of things didn't happen often but they did happen and still do and it doesn't matter whether it's Puerto Rico or any other country.

Yeah it was St. Thomas, and it wasn't like the tourist part they had gone to see a local girl's friend's band play a show. They were the only white people there, I could see this situation playing out. And we don't know that she was raped.

Why are you saying this character was raped?

This female character (written by a man) seemed quite happy with what was going on.
