wasn't this suppossed to come out like a year ago? i remember going to see Ella Enchanted and my theater had all those stupid blue and white flags for this movie all over the place.

shareThe movie was originally scheduled for release in April of this year. Then 20th Century Fox moved the release date to July 22 because it tested better than they anticipated (according to the studio), so they wanted it in the summer movie season. Then once 20th Century decided to move Fantistic Four off of the July 4th weekend (to avoid a direct showdown w/ WOTW), they decided to position Rebound there as counterprogramming to "War".
There's no way Rebound will come anywhere close to WOTW this weekend, but it'll be interesting to see if they can beat out Batman for #2. With around a $25 -30M budget on this film, if they make $30 - 35M, they'll be a success. $50M would make it a SMASHING success. We'll see...
