Zebras can't race...

This documentary smells of fraud to me.

Documentary? It more a shockumentary of a movie.

reply

First, it is a family movie, not a documentary. And why can't zebras race? Sure, they can't compete in the Kentucky derby, but there are exhibition races where it is open to different animals to compete. Zebras are incredibly fast for short distances, they can reach nearly 40 miles an hour! They race camels, dogs, ostriches, rats, pigs...you name it, they race them. You should specify exactly why you don't think zebras can race. Just because no one has raced them doesn't mean they can't.

reply

They can race other Zebras, not horses. And especially not race horses. They don't have the power in their legs.

reply

they can't beat race horses because the race horses (9 horses out of 10..meaning only one is not drugged and the other 9 are) are drugged and that in my opinion is cheating anyway.

reply

thats why its a movie...not every movie, if you haven't noticed, is completely accurate. its fake, and represents things that don't necessarily happen

Racing Stripes is the best documentary on zebras participating in horse races ever made. I found it quite informative. I can't believe March Of The Penguins beat it for 2005's Best Documentary Oscarâ„¢.

I know this is an old post, but LOL.

Knowing now that Zebras can't really race, this film is rather distrubing. The film is meant to encourage kids to pursue their dreams in spite of people telling them they can't. But, when they find out that it's a fraud, their quadroplegic basketball dreams will be shattered. Curse you Racing Stripes for giving my child false hope!
