I dont care what you guys think about Racing Stripes

I dont care what any of you think. all i know is that my cuz did an awesome job.
So whatever to you all. i think its a cute movie, an im sure im going to like it.

reply

Who are you and what are you refferring to? Am I supposed to know your cuz? Fatty V.

reply

Hi Mr.V

I was just trying to make a [oint it doesnt matter what people think about movies if its for little kids why do people care? i dont understand what they r all trying to say. My cousin is Hayden Panettiere shes the rider of the zebra.
It doesnt matter how much they pay for the movie or who is in it and they could have done better. if an actor(actress) wants to do a kids movie than i think they should go ahead and do it. If it makes them happy then and want to do something for little kids. then i think thats cute. it doesnt matter what people think they dont have to go and see the movie. I think Hayden did an AWESOME job in the movie it looks cute and I'm going to see it.

i cant wait to see it! its fabulous that you have a cousin that was in it!. i love horses and animals related to them so i definatly want to see it.

reply

If she hadn't been you cousin, would you still be defending the film? I would hope so, because otherwise this would be an illegitimate thread.

reply

Of course i would :) defend the film I love all animals. I love all the actors in the film Frankie I love him. Snoop Dogg is ok.(Not a big fan of his) but I'm an animal lover and i would defend any movie that people have against animals.

Jessica

reply

it's so ironic that you defend movies with animals in them because you are an animal lover. i wonder if animals like being used for public spectacle? i wonder if they would choose to be in movies if there was no one there to force them? i wonder if birds like being caged? i wonder if animals really care for humans at all. people who really love animals should love seeing animals free in the wild where they belong, not in movies. personally, i like seeing bullfighters be gored by the bulls. that sport is cruel. i'm not a big fan of jockeys either.

but mainly i hate crappy movies that are made for pure profit, as well as the people that are too dumb to realize it.

The director is lame. The movie is lame. The trailers are lame. Whether it is your cousin or the f'n POPE riding that zebra it is LAME! Plain lame.

reply

first of all .... the movie didnt come out second of all .... its a childrens movie and your lame..... your not an actor so who cares about you. If you were an actor with that attitude you would suck....Its for CHILDREN. Its not based on your opinion.... If you think it is lame then you dont have to go and see it. NO ONE is forcing you.

Animals do belong in the wild but if you wanna save an animal from getting eattin by a lion or a croc then they r really lucky to be alive and im sure since it is the first movie for a zebra then it will be the last.

reply

How do you know I'm not an actor ? How do you know I'm not a director ? You think that telling lies about this movie being good makes you a good person. Worse telling those lies because your cousin is in it ? No one is forcing me to go ? They couldn't , not with a gun or a baseball bat. I'd rather poke my f'n eyes out with a shrimp fork than go see this movie. It's written and directed by the biggest no talents in LA , the belgian waffle , Du Chau.

Sesame Street translation : L is for lame.

reply

I don't understand why people like you have to use message boards to trash other people. Isn't there enough of this kind of nonsense and abuse out there already that you have to come in here and chew out people you don't know?

I just came from seeing Racing Stripes. It was a fun movie. Sure, it was no "Lord of the Rings" but it wasn't supposed to be. People take movies too seriously. They are supposed to enterain us. They don't have to be real - that is why we go see them. A little slice of unreality for entertainment.

If you are an actor or a director, you have let it go to your head. If you are a director - what have you made that has ever made it to the big screen?? Nothing I bet. You feel you have to hack apart other people's work because you are unsuccessful?

Or better yet, why do you care so much that you have to beat us to death with your poor opinion of this film? What is the big deal?

I think it's a fantastic film for kid (animals can deliver messages in a way people can't - no pressure) and it's just light fun entertainment adults (I can vouch for this, I'm 35).

Just take it for what it is. Entertainment. Nothing else.

reply

I'll say it's no "Lord of the Rings". Lol! Gee tigershire , your vision of a world where no one disagree's is really swell. I wish I could join you there but unfortunately it's a little bit limited.

The director is a pathetic , talentless climber and hasn't the depth to write a brillo commercial let alone cobble together ripped off plot points from other films. How does me being in the "biz" have any effect on that ? Read the reviews , explain Quest for Camelot , the most god awful animated film ever.

You've hardly been beaten to death with these facts, though that would make me laugh. So "animals can deliver messages in a way people can't - no pressure" And then you claim to be spokesperson for the adults who were entertained ? Personally I think you have a problem relating to human beings so I wouldn't be claiming to represent any audience demographic quite yet.

Your tude about accepting any form of crap as entertainment pretty much explains why you are so easily entertained. Enjoy!

reply

man whats up with you thunderr, you said the trailer was lame, so why would you bother seeing this movie then, are you that much of an upsessive movie fanatic, that you must see every movie, man spend your pathetic life doing other stuff than probably drooling over your movie collection, or thinking of whitty come backs to defend your obsession.

I race horses for a living and I only own 3 of them, I love those horses and they are treated very well. You said animals probably don't care about people at all. I think you are very sadly mistaken. My horses are wonderfull friends and care graciously for me. They are some of my greatest friends in the world and I am proud to say that. Race horses, at least the good ones run because they want to, and quite frankly, it is near imposible to "make" a horse run. As for Jockeys, You should be ashamed about what you said. The are wonderfull atheletes, and I myself am an exersise rider (like a jockey). Just think about that.

reply

how does one exercise by being carried around by a horse? yea, you can probably say you gain some arm strenght, but a bench press works much better im sure.

"he who makes a monster of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man" -dr. johnson

reply

You try it! Then come back and tell me how "easy" it is! Have you ever sat on 1500 lbs of moving horse flesh going 40mph, standing in your stirups? Or ever ridden 25 miles in 100 degree weather? Riding horses takes alot more than you could think.

reply

You have clearly not ridden a horse yet. Do so, then see how wrong your words are.
It's hard work riding.

The faster the horse goes, the more exertion needed.

reply

I wonder if animals like being used? I wonder if they would choose to be in movies? Another tree hugger I suppose. ANIMALS DONT CHOOSE Frank! We choose for them. Duh. I bet that there are a lot of animal owners who would venture to say that their animals love them, just as they love their pets. And those pets owners make choices for their pets every day. And you wondered if animals care for humans? Sounds like maybe its you that really doesnt. Get a life GOOF. I gotta go for now. I'm gonna eat another CHEESE BURGER for you. Nice warm bloody beef! YUM. With some cheese made from milk that was sucked from a cow!! I might ever follow it up with a couple of boiled eggs later. Anyone care to join and make a toast to ole Frank(furter) Booth?

reply

if you are responding to my post (your a bit late i might add) maybe you should go back and re-read it. i think your brain maybe needs to process it again. i never once said animals choose to be in movies. also, what in god's holy name are you trying to say? first you call me a tree-hugger because i said something about animals, which makes absolutely no sense. then you seem to say something about people caring for animals and how you like cheeseburgers. i like cheeseburgers too , sorry to ruin your argument, but i'm not a vegan (in case you didn't know, thats someone who doesn't use any animal products).

one day maybe you will learn that not everyone is an extreme stareotype. some people have a variety of different morals. people are not always on one side of the spectrum.

some people have different opinions than you. now learn how to read and quit responding to threads that are over a month old and deal with sh!tty kids movies.

hi im 13 and i went to see racing stripes and i thought it was a good movie but was quite sad when stripes got left behind as a baby but loved the movie!!!

reply

If you love horses so much then maybe you should have known that only PUREBREED Thoroughbreds can race in Thoroughbred races. ZEBRAS are WILD animals and SHOULD NOT be made out as pets. They are not similar to horses in their attitudes or their temperment, and they shoudln't be made out to be.

reply

A children's movie should be able to appeal to both children and adults. Just look at Toy Story and Finding Nemo. These movies have done exceptionally well and have won over the hearts of children and adults alike. I think everyone's appreciaton for Racing Stripes (so far) is shown in its 4.1 rating.

reply

Dude, your cousin is fine. She did a great job acting too.

reply

I went to see this movie with my aunt who takes all the youngest cousins to dollar movie Saturdays, and caught back up on the sleep she robbed me off, because the concept was moronic. I was shaken awake by that irritating gate training scene, to see the 9th wonder of the world. Hayden's rump in those worn thin riding pants. Then another 30 or so minutes of just plain over the top dripping with cheese, unnecessarily loud tossed together fantasy. You wonder why kids are getting stupider each generation? Because you take them to see this kinda fantastically mind numbing, brain cell killing *beep* of a movie. It's not just that even on a low-level event that the race was, that a Zebra would be let in the race, it's ridiculous to even fathom it wouldn't be trampled to mush bby the first quarter mile pole.

what? umm are you ok? im no Superior Film Critic

I'm glad that people are starting to turn around. This movie is just so cute and hopefully more kids will like it.

reply

The movie is definitely cute. I took my neice and nephew (5 and 8) to see it today after they got out of school. We all had a good time. They liked it a lot more than I did, which is really all that matters, but I still did enjoy myself, and found myself laughing and chuckling more often than not.

I saw Racing Stripes this evening. I was initially attracted to see it because I work around horses on weekends doing photography, and enjoy spending a good deal of time with them in general. I can relate to having them as some of my very best friends. Indeed, I have formed some wonderful relationships with many of them at our barn, they accept me almost as one of them. Several new foals were born this past week, and I had the privelege of photographing them when they were only hours old. If you would like to see them, visit my personal page http://www.pbase.com/gkitf16/new_babies . They (and the gorgeous little zebra foal in the movie, which immediately steals your heart!) are some of the most precious creatures when they are so small. Trusting, intensely inquisitive, and very impressionable.

Your cousin performed very well in her role in the movie. From a first look, she should have a promising career from my standpoint. My favorites in the film, naturally, were first the horses (Stripes and the little Shetland pony), most of the animals (the two flies were hilarious, and Jeff Foxworthy as the rooster) and a few of the human actors. Granted, the plot was very simplistic, and far too easy to predict. But then, it wasn't supposed to be The Matrix or some hyper-complicated film. It played very well as what it was intended to be, a cute, light-hearted film about raising and learning to race a zebra against many odds. It was refreshing to see a new film which didn't have to rely on so much filth and raunch to be "funny". I will probably add it to my "horse movies" collection when it's on DVD, along with other favorites such as The Black Stallion, Black Beauty (newer version), etc.

I find horses to be such great friends for several reasons. They are the world's best listeners, seldom criticize, they let you know exactly how they feel without any pretenses, they appreciate being rubbed and socialize in return by grooming you back, and they seldom get attitudes without being provoked in the first place, or hold a grudge.

Best wishes to your cousin for a top-notch performance, hope you get to meet her in person and share her experiences.

ok, I haven't actually seen racing stripes yet, but i'm going to this week. I'm 13, so im not expecting it to be brilliant. I'm just going up for a bit of fun. And this is where i think people are missing the point.

Films like Racing Stripes, Thunderbirds, Garfield etc...they're not supposed to be oscar winners, and thieyre not aimed at adults. They're just created to give kids a bit of fun.

And think about it, apart from the one or two dreamworks or pixar films that come out each year, there aren't that many kids films that come out in the cinema. Racing stripes is just a simple film with talking animals with some funny and talented actors lending their voices to them. I'm not expecting a 5 star performance. i just want to have a bit of fun, which i think is what people are trying to say.

reply

Definitely BanderasBaby. Don't need an Oscar winner to entertain you for ann hour and a half!

You people are all idiots for arguing over this movie.

This is a children's movie that relies on the gimmick of talking animals to make a lot of money off of little kids' parents.

Some people like that, because they're a bit odd.

I like odd things to. But I don't like this movie. But hey, that's cool, right? And if you don't think that's cool, you can go ride yourself.
