I know its a kids movie, but none of it made sense

I know it was a kids movie, but how would a zebra be allowed to race in such a big event

First of all the zebra would have had to have raced in some trials, (it failed to get out of the barrier), he only done one trial, and didnt even finish that off....

Stripes would have had to have raced in a few races, to be even accepted in such a big race.

An owner/or trainer cant just say, "i let you race your zebra", it has to do with the racing committee, the stewards

The young girl, hadnt even raced before, not professionally anyway from what i saw in the movie, you have to go to school, to become one. The silks she used were old, would they have still been registered???, even stripes wasnt registered either.

I know its a kids movie, but they could have used a real horse, that was no good, but then became a champion

The end race scene was basically ripped directly from The Black Stallion, which was equally unprobable, but that is a classic horse movie as well. Black being ridden by a child jockey, fails to break correctly from the gate, wins anyway.

Except, of course, that the Black stallion had half a shot of actually winning against TB's, considering how much influence Arab blood had on the founding of the TB as a breed.

Well, they screwed up the adaptation of the Black Stallion book to the movie. In the book the kid was 16, old enough to be licensed to ride, then and now. I truly hated the stupid helmet and the use of that terrible kid actor who looked about 9 years old in it. Yes, he could ride and handle a horse well (but he couldn't act), but it made the ending of the film utterly ridiculous, to see someone who was clearly underage riding in the race. Too bad they'll never make this film again and do it right.
