Felt married couple would eventually reunite

I felt all he went through and all the forgiveness he showed that he would forgive and forget. I seem to be the only one that understands time away from some who has hurt you is sometimes what is needed, I also felt she would approach him. she has to live knowing she was the cause and it seems this ending is more of the way these characters were portrayed. The film wanted to show by leaving he at least make a statement. and she becomes humble to what she really did and what she may loose. As the rest of the film indicates he did not express himself well.

Hmm, not sure I agree. That scene with her in the yoga studio at the end shows that she is happy and free.

So why would you feel she would not contact him. She was happy with him also still think that time for him to heal will bring them together. He could not heal himself with her around.....I took the ending with her finding Yoga to indicate she has her own power of healing and a new source of strength. she got with the kid because she was week and had no inner power.

I don't think I agree - based on her character portrayal she was happy in her marriage 'just because' but her character seemed more needing of that 'happy and free' mentioned in the above post. At the yoga studio she seems where she should be, happily childless and unattached - there's nothing wrong with this but Elaine didn't seem the type to enjoy these roles.
