Rape Scene

Somebody told me he rapes his wife after finding out about her affair.
Or is he just angry with her?

reply

I wouldn't call it rape at all. He's just very umm...aggressive (I don't want to spoil it) because (we assume) he is trying to prove his manhood to her again.

reply

yea he was, cause after the incident he is trying to impress his wife by working out alot....i wouldent call it rape either...

reply

I thought he was working out so he could beat Chet up....... or so it seemed to me at the time.

But that seems more likely.

reply

let's just say that he enters through the "back door"

ROFL Hehe. Trying something different, he was.

reply

He may have "done" her from behind. But, I don't think he used an alternate entrance.

reply

How did he find out about the affair?

Cable went out.

:(

“Well, my days of not takin' you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.”

reply

It would appear that she tells him right after it happens. Shortly after the scene where she sleeps with Chet you see...whatever Simon Baker's character's name was sitting on his bed looking despondent while Frances is in the bathroom crying.

reply

yea what misscloe3861 said and after that which i think is very weird he goes in the bathroom and have sex with her for like 10 secs lol and then gets her a tissue because shes crying. its very weird scene to me

reply

Well, I hope I'm not mistaken, but I don't recall him taking off his or her undies before they "did it." And I assumed the tissue was for her to clean herself off.

reply

Very strange scene indeed. I wouldn't call it re-asserting his manhood, but rather shameing her for what she did by being dirty and lustful himself. He uses her for sex and thats it, presumably because he has been used himself. None the less a very wierd scene.

reply

When my friend and I saw that part, we both made comments regarding his "manhood" being stripped in a way by the fact that a younger "man" had his wife. I commented that why doesn't he just pee on her leg to ensure that he's marked his territory and my bud and I still crack up about that...but it's sort of a psychological thing men go thru, ensuring that this is their "property" of sorts and yes, men think women are their property even though they don't say it.

that's exactly what i think....that's surely what they were trying to say through it

He doesn't rape his wife... whoever told you that, is delusional!

I can quite point out what was going on with that scene but, I think he was trying to prove something to himself and to his wife that he can still give it up, I guess! it wasn't a very romantic scene either... and the way he was doing her from behind, was lame and boring!

turn me OFF completely.

* Sourires et baisers d'arc-en-ciel! : { }

reply

I think he did this because it was in the back of his mind in the marriage in the first place and he either never worked the courage to propose the idea of anal sex to her or she wouldnt do it. He realized his wife was in a vulnerable position having confessed to adultery and after losing the respect he had for his wife he took advantage of her the way he wanted.

reply

We never see when she tels him that she was with the boy

and no I wouldn't call it rape, he was upset and she didn't say no, as if she was thinking: "go ahead, do it, I deserve it, I'm a bad person"

or something like that.

reply

I am still confused, they both had their underwear on during that whole strange scene!

reply

[deleted]

i guess he was kinda trying to prove a point and he was kinda being mean about it so he didnt even bother to remove his underwear

he just pulled it out lol

"he just pulled it out lol"

Isn't that just like a man?

You shouldn't repeat the word rape without watching it (or titling a thread as 'Rape Scene'). That's true in life as well as message boards.
After she told him about her banging the ice-cream boy they had sex in the bathroom. It doesn't look like he forced her into anything. But I watched the scene before using the word "rape".
the only rape I saw was the 'almost-30-year-old' having sex with the 15 year old which is what i assumed your post was about due to the thread title.
