i venture a guess damocles has noticed too

they just cleared the posts out, for what? the darn board wasn't full AT ALL.

and last year our thread about viva la madness was entirely wiped out, for no apparent reason.

it seems someone wants to 'stifle' activity here. (someone with admin controls) but why? toward what aim? i scratch my head. at first i wondered if connolly himself came here and had the VLM thread zapped, not wanting anyone discussing it when the book was still out there for sale. well, hello! the discussion would have probably HELPED stimulate sales, had you left it alone. that's how that works. and besides, all comments were cloaked in spoiler tags. but whatever, this is conjecture on my part, anyway.

in any case, somebody is monkeying with the threads and board here.

(watch to see if this thread here disappears. i bet it will)

Yeah, I don't know what happened. I understand IMDb clearing out an active board, but not one like Layer Cake.

I noticied that as well. A bunch of good threads disappeared, as though somebody just wiped old threads.

IMDB has a policy of regularly deleting threads. If a board is busy then more often the threads will get zapped.

Its that man again!!

you clearly didn't read my OP

it wasn't that, at all. the board had ONLY RECENTLY BEEN PURGED in 2010

there was not much here currently, meaning that this time it was some other reason than the regular deleting policy. (which i'm aware of, btw)

(moreover, that's not on every board. only active ones that fill up. lots of boards still have threads there from 200 2001 2002)

another thing you didn't see in the OP is my reference to the sequel thread. that one was deleted surgically. so that CLEARLY has nothing to do with the IMDB policy

i'm still saddened and annoyed that they cleaned out this board FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHATSOEVER
