Imagine you and me (pt 2?)

Well, I've gotten the feeling this is rather like another small film called Imagine You and Me, with very little differance in the ways of basic plot.

In Imagine You and Me, a couple gets married. At their wedding, the bride sees someone, and starts to wonder about her relationship, and what she considers love. The someone? The female florist who did the flowers for her wedding. After much confusion on the part of our curiou bride... she eventually gets with the florist (big surprise right?).

Now, don't get me wrong (as i've not seen gray matters), but these two movies seem to run parallel in plot.

Why is it, that hollywood can never come up with an entertaining, yet original and captivating "gay" movie?
(this last statement of course doesn't include kissing jessica stein, as she really wasn't gay in the first place... nor in the last place when the movie ended!)

Not that I've seen "Imagine You and Me" ... but this film (that I just saw) is more from a perspective of someone who doesn't realize who they really are (i.e., gay) and trying to cope / understand / tolerate / accept / embrace themselves and be happy.

As for Hollywood, every story is the same, it's just the manner in which you tell it .....

as a gay woman i would say to you - arent the same movies done over and over anyway. the same romantic comedy has been done over and over. i don;t think this is particular to "gay" movies. and i have a problem calling this or any other movie a gay movie thats a term that excludes. its a movie maybe a cute romantic comedy movie that features a love story that happens to be between two women.

You will find the gate that's open, even though your spirit's broken

I don't think you can say that because its just a romantic movie where people of the same sex fall in love i think. I mean theres only two movies that I've known where that happens which is this one and imagine me and you. But if your saying that, you can also say that people in romantic films who are both from the opposite sex are repeats or whatever.

i saw imagine me and you a year ago and completely fell in love with it. i watched gray matters b/c, like you, i thought it might be similar. it really was not the case. gray matters is a much lighter comedy and it is more about heather's character dealing and coping with coming out. the main focus really wasn't a lesbian relationship. imagine me and you is my favorite movie, but gray matters is worth checking out if you don't mind some cheesiness.
