I though Jed was imaginary only because...

The first four or five times he showed up he had the same damned clothes on! Later on I assumed he was only on Joe's mind and stopped checking, but I think he was dressed the same the whole film. I suppose he didn't have time to do laundry, with all the stalking and stuff.

well the man was crazy, so I wouldnt put it past him to never change his clothes. Also, he had to exist for certain to happen, for example, he was the first oen holding the balloon down, and also he *SPOILERS* stabbed Claire.

i thought he might be imaginary for a second only because when he finally cracks the "curtain code" and tries to show claire that jed is out in the park she wont even go look as if HE were the one that was crazy and maybe making all this up. why wouldn't claire look or believe him?? but i know he was real cause when jed showed up in class, all the students were saying "who is that?" before he even appeared. aaah, so confusing..what's the deal??

I have not seen the movie but read the book just this week and the notion that Jed is only in Joe's mind and it's actually Joe who is crazy is very, very prominent in the novel. In fact, I was almost convinced he only imagined Jed until the very end.

plus he clearly wasnt very well off so perhaps these were the only clothes he had??

Ashmi any question

Actually he changes his clothes several times. His jacket seems to stay the same, though, so you may not have noticed the shirts underneath. I love orange though, so I instantly noticed when he was wearing an orange long-sleeve tee under the jacket
