And this is supposed to be the new Bond???

How the hell can this whining nancy be Bond - Brosnan or Connery never played these kinds sissy roles, let alone with such curiously natural adoptability. What a ponce he was when he was saying 'Shut up! Shut up!' Is this the kind of spoilt prep-school prat reaction we are to expect from a captive Bond in the future? Rather than a cool Connery-like delivery of 'Do you expect me to talk... if you kill me, 008 will take my place' we're going to get some skinny brat saying 'If you kill me... my mammy will hear about it.'

Kirk out.

Have faith man...remember he was portraying a character, not himself. If you see Daniel Craig also in Layer Cake or The Jacket then you would understand how well he adapts to different styles for each character. Layer Cake he played a professional, chilled out mobster...the sort of attitude I'm sure he will be partly bringing forth for Bond....I've yet to see this film but I have faith in Craig that he will do justice to the Bond frachise.

Wow, how morinic of you. Look up 'to act' in the dictionary.

reply

it's called acting, moron

reply

why insult him? He's giving his opinion and you lay into him? Grow up.

I'm not controversial - I just say what others are afraid to say.

reply

Didn't you notice my key phrase 'such curiously natural adoptability'? That means that his persona is more suited to that kind of role rather than Bond. There's no need to lose your rag, 'theinfamouspaw'. Brosnan or Connery would never seem right in these roles because they were real men.

There's not been a truly good Bond film for years. I find it completely insane that so many grown adults are getting worked up about Craig as the next Bond.

It really doesn't matter. Life will go on.

I don't like Daniel Craig. When he's trying to be a tough guy in this film, it doesn't work. It's actually quite embarrassing 2 call ureself english when u see him acting the way he does in this. He's a portentous, annoying swot who i care little for in any film he's in, let alone the next 007 movie.

reply

if you recall, not long before Pierce Brosnan was Bond, he played a prissy guy with food allergies in Mrs. Doubtfire. watching a guy get the heimlich from Robin Williams dressed in drag doesn't bring up thoughts of 007, but Brosnan worked out well enough. so reserve your judgments on Daniel Craig until he's done a Bond film.

Obviously, you haven't seen Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1957)! You know seeing sexy Sir Sean gallopping in the Scottish heather never took away from his personas as Bond! Or Bronson being a part of the cast of Mars Attacks or Mrs. Doubtfire hasn't taken away his effectiveness as James!

daniel craig is definately an AMAZING actor.. but to play BOND? cmon! hes not good looking enuff or dark featured enuff..robbie williams shudnt have turned down the role..i think eric banna would have made a good bond or maybe hugh jackman? OOOh im not thinking of personal reasons why i want them to be bonds.. i dont even LIKE the bond movies!! apart from the connery ones hehe

Ya know..idiocy seems to REIGN all over IMDB..I mean..Okay..I get that some people don't think Daniel Craig has the "Looks" for playing Bond...and that's fine. Personally I think he's hot..but "beauty is in the eye" right?

But when you are too braindead to decipher when an "ACTOR" is playing a role and following the script that is written for the charatcer..well no one should even be listening to anything you have to say. Because you have obviously lost your way.

I mean the character of "Joe" has NOTHING to do with Daniel Craig's ability to play BOND..I mean..go over to the "Casino Royal" message board..or the page for Daniel Craig and just say "I don't like him as Bond..I think "So&So should have played Bond".

But please , display your mental psychosis where it's relevent. I mean, this message board is for those wanting to DISCUSS "Enduring Love". Let's stick to that. If you are having trouble sepearating actor from character..well lithium might help.

your obviously a woman then. *sigh*

I'm not a fan of Craig being Bond. And Brosnan and Connery are my two favorite Bonds, but to say "Brosnan or Connery never played these kinds sissy roles"...

Well, there's a reason for that. I don't think they quite have the range for it. Though, I can't say if that's because they don't have the ability or simply because they were pigeonholed fairly early in their careers wouldn't be offered roles so far outside of "hero" roles to begin with.

Craig came into the Bond role after having developed a very strong and known character role background. That, it seems, is both a gift and a burden.

reply

I seem to recall that in one of Brosnans first movies The Long Good Friday, he played a homosexual picked up at a swimming pool.

As others have said - its acting. Craig does a great job of making you believe he is the person he's portraying and if he seems 'weak' as Joe when he gets aggressive towards Jed, lets remeber his character here is not Bond, but as an academic, caught up in a situation that is spinning out of control.

reply

"Theinfamouspaw" hit the nail on the head! Craig is "playing" a character. ACTING. OK, obviously the character of Joe wouldn't make a good Bond, but that has nothing to do with Craig's ability to portray other characters. I also loved the "Brosnan-Mrs Doubtfire" comparison!!!

Ever seen Darby O'Gill and the Little People??? Happy go lucky Disney film about a Leprehcorn?

Yeah, so every Connery role was an action man eh?

I think he would make a good bond from the movies I have seen of him, he's a very good actor. Never thought I'd see him kiss a guy though

I find he has this strange auora which makes him very attractive to me, with that I think I'll enjoy Casino Royale.

to OP.

Your saying, an actor, that acted as one character, can't act as another character, because he acted as a different one in another movie?

You are a complete prat, have you seen layer cake? he plays a totally different person and pulls it off great, now i don't know if your sister has left you for another sibling you inbred tit, but stop spamming sh-t you don't know about on boards.
