Highly inspired from Hellen keller's life?

I read hellen keller's Autobiography much b4 watching this film, and I was like What the hell? I can tell u guys, this is a line by line rip off, just that they've added some drama + hellen's tutor wasn't male. The book itself is a classic, while the film has its moments I honestly didn't like it much. AB was good, and so was rani. But the girl was superb, i should tell you that. Overall highly overrated by the critics, I'd say. Sorry for this. I repeat, read her autobiography, it's beautiful.

I haven't read much about HK since elementary school, and have never seen The Miracle Worker or anything. But yes, the overall story, plus some of the detalis, were what I remember from hearing about the life of Helen Keller.

Didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the film, though, since the story was engrossingly delivered and it was quite beautiful to look at much of the time. And I say this as someone who doesn't usually go for sentimental stories about overcoming disability.

Plus, they did seem to be acknowledging their debt to Helen Keller's story in the dedication.

Yes the film is the indian take on the movie the Miracle Worker - but with different characters - a male teacher instead of a female (they don't have to copy it EXACTLY) and the Miracle Worker was based on the story of Helen Keller.
